Synchronous interfacing with unaffiliated networked systems to alter functionality of sets of electronic assets
Systems and methods for managing a set of electronic assets from a single location are disclosed. The method includes providing a portal with a network security access control. The method includes determining that login credentials input to the access control are associated with a set of electronic assets corresponding to a plurality of third-party computing systems with application programming interface (API) gateways configured to accept API calls directed to changes in functionality of the electronic assets. The method includes presenting, via the portal, a virtual icon to identify a coordinated action with respect to the set of electronic assets and, in response to a selection of the virtual icon, executing a set of API calls that include an asset-specific API call to each third-party computing system in the plurality of third-party computing systems to implement the coordinated action on all electronic assets in the set of electronic assets.
System and method for a customized fifth generation (5G) network
An embodiment logical function architecture for next-generation 5G wireless networks may include a control plane comprising a software defined topology (SDT) logical entity configured to establish a virtual data-plane logical topology for a service, a software defined resource allocation (SDRA) logical entity configured to map the virtual data-plane topology to a physical data-plane for transporting service-related traffic over the wireless network, and a software defined per-service customized data plane process (SDP) logical entity configured to select transport protocol(s) for transporting the service-related traffic over a physical data-plane of the wireless network. An embodiment virtual service specific serving gateway (v-s-SGW) for next-generation 5G networks may be assigned specifically to a service being provided by a group of wirelessly enabled devices, and may be responsible for aggregating service-related traffic communicated by the group of wirelessly enabled devices.
Methods and apparatuses for charging of a service session of M2M devices in a communication network
The present disclosure relates to a method performed in an operator network providing data network connectivity to Machine-to-Machine (M2M) devices, for charging of a service session involving a plurality of the M2M devices. The method comprises, from each of the plurality of M2M devices involved in the service session, receiving a service message comprising a service identifier (SID) corresponding to the service session. The method also comprises, by means of the received SID from each of the plurality of M2M devices, determining the number of M2M devices involved in the service session. The method also comprises, based on the determined number of M2M devices, calculating a charging rate for the service session. The method also comprises using the calculated rate, charging the service session.
Unified services platform using a telephone number as a common subscriber identifier
A system and method for enabling the telephone number as a platform for the association of IP-enabled services with legacy telephone service. A unified services enabler platform may be utilized to associate a customer and their telephone number with a variety of services and applications from multiple different ecosystems. The customer can continue to use their existing telephone service and in addition can utilize new IP-enabled features that are associated with their telephone number as the common ID.
UE Provisioning and Charging for Sidelink Group Communication
A network may provision a user equipment (UE) with charging rules for the UE to host sidelink (SL) communications with other UEs. An application server may receive information indicating a group of user equipment (UE) has been formed, the group of UEs comprising a first UE connected to a radio access network (RAN) and at least one further UE connected via a sidelink (SL) to the first UE, select SL parameters including session management parameters and charging parameters for a SL session for the UE group and provision a policy control function (PCF) of a core network (CN) with the selected SL parameters.
ASSET MANAGEMENT WITH RESPECT TO A SHARED POOL OF CONFIGURABLE COMPUTING RESOURCES
Disclosed aspects relate to asset management with respect to a shared pool of configurable computing resources. With respect to a set of assets which share a resource on a first compute node, a set of asset weight values is identified. The set of asset weight values indicates a set of utilization shares of the resource by the set of assets. A set of asset priority values is identified with respect to the set of assets on the first compute node. The set of asset priority values indicates a relative status arrangement for the set of assets. Using the set of asset weight values and the set of asset priority values, a determination is made to migrate a first asset of the set of assets from the first compute node to a second compute node. Accordingly, the first asset of the set of assets is migrated from the first compute node to the second compute node.
Apparatus and method for providing telecommunication services
Methods and apparatus of improving telecommunication network efficiency by increasing user device registration with and use of the network are disclosed. Improved user device registration and use, and thus increased efficiency may be achieved by allocating revenue generated by operation of a telecommunication network between user devices, a network operator device, and a third party device. The allocation of revenue may be based, at least in part, on a hierarchical relationship between user devices registered with the network and information concerning the use of the telecommunication network by the user devices.
Mobile Device and Service Management
A wireless end-user device, comprising one or more modems enabling the wireless end-user device to communicate with a network system over a wireless access network, a touch-screen user interface, and one or more processors configured to execute one or more instructions that, when executed by the one or more processors, cause the one or more processors to detect a user input through the touch-screen user interface, the user input comprising a request to remove the wireless end-user device from an existing device group account, the existing device group account being associated with one or more devices including the wireless end-user device, and send a message to the network system over the wireless access network, the message conveying the request to remove the wireless end-user device from the existing device group account.
Device and/or line event awareness and smart synchronization
Device and/or line event awareness and smart synchronization is described. In at least one example, a related device of a group of related devices may receive a communication notification representative of a communication event. Such communication notifications may enable event awareness for each of the devices in the group of related devices. In an example, the related device may compare data items (e.g., participants, timestamps, etc.) associated with the communication notification with data items associated with entries stored in a local data store. The entries may correspond to communication events associated with at least the related device. Based at least in part on comparing the data items, the related device may determine whether a new entry associated with the communication notification should be added to a local data store or the communication notification should be disregarded as a duplication.
Mobile device sharing facilitation methods and systems featuring a subset-specific source identification
Structures and protocols are presented for using or otherwise relating to a first mobile device (a smartphone or tablet computer or wearable device, e.g.) configured to be shared by two or more parties such that a subset of the parties may be addressed selectively (in content directed to such parties, e.g.) in a cost-effective manner.
