Increased network resources in exchange for sharing of device resources
An indicator can be received from a client device. The indicator can indicate an agreement by a user of the client device to share device resources of the client device with an entity distinct from the client device and distinct from the user of the client device. Responsive to receiving from the mobile device the indicator, and responsive to receiving a message from a sharing agent of the mobile device indicating that that no user inputs are received by the mobile device over a particular duration of time and that video content is not being streamed to the mobile device, a client access agent can access the shared resources, data to be processed by the shared device resources can be communicated to the mobile device, and a level of a quality of service provided by a communication network to the mobile device can be increased.
Managing bandwidth in mobile telecommunications networks
In one embodiment, in accordance with the present invention, a method, computer program product, and system for managing and redistributing unused bandwidth between devices connected to a mobile telecommunications network is provided. One or more computer processors determine a predicted amount of data to be used by a mobile device. The one or more computer processors determine a surplus of allocated data based on whether the predicted amount of data is less than an allocated amount of data. The one or more computer processors, upon determining that there is a surplus of allocated data, move the surplus of allocated data to a data pool to be used by one or more additional mobile devices.
Information processing apparatus and information processing method
An information processing apparatus includes a processor. The processor assigns priority levels to respective logics arranged in a chain graph. Each logic is activated by an input event to generate an output event. The processor allocates tokens to the logics based on the priority levels. The processor estimates, for each of the logics, a total number of generated output events to obtain an expected amount of tokens corresponding to the total number. The processor compares, for each of the logics, the expected amount of tokens to an amount of the allocated tokens to determine whether each of the logics has a surplus or a shortage in the allocated tokens. The processor adjusts a frequency of activating each of logics having the shortage. The processor calculates a total amount of the surplus. The processor reallocates the total amount of the surplus to the logics having the shortage.
Charging Method and Device
A charging method includes: determining, by a control plane function entity (CP), that a data flow that is transmitted by user equipment (UE) on a first data session needs to be migrated to a second data session; charging, by the CP, the data flow on the first UP through a first charging session between the CP and a charging system; obtaining, by the CP, charging information of the data flow before the migration that is counted by the first UP; and determining, by the CP, a quota that is used for the data flow after the migration is necessary to be delivered to the second UP, and delivering the quota to the second UP, thereby charging a service data flow of a user in a case of migration between user planes.
Method and device for optimizing the metering and use of data by a mobile terminal
One embodiment relates to a method for sharing consumption of an electronic communication service by a mobile terminal, a session for consuming the service being established initially between the terminal and a gateway between the mobile network and a packet-switched network, remaining credit for consuming the service being attributed initially to the terminal. The terminal periodically requests authorisation to consume a predetermined quota of the remaining credit. A request to track the credit of the terminal is received and a message, intended for launching a credit request for the terminal is transmitted to the gateway. A credit request message for the terminal including information relating to a portion of the predetermined quota consumed by the terminal is received from the gateway. The remaining credit is updated accordingly. A response to track the credit of the terminal for the service, including the updated value of the remaining credit is transmitted.
Method and apparatus for sharing data quota
A method of sharing a data quota in an electronic device includes grouping the electronic device and at least one other electronic device for sharing the data quota, selecting a sharing electronic device among the at least one other electronic device, through which to download data from a server, and receiving the download. Other embodiments including a server and an apparatus for sharing a data quota between electronic are also disclosed.
Method and function for handling a subscriber's communication services
The embodiments herein relate to a method performed by a charging function (125) for handling a subscriber's communication services. The charging function (125) detects that a subscriber's credit account has reached or fallen below a credit threshold when the subscriber has multiple ongoing communication services consuming credit from the credit account. The charging function (125) sends a threshold notification to a UE (101) on which the subscriber has at least one of the multiple ongoing communication services. The charging function (125) determines if a response to the threshold notification has been received with prioritization of one of the multiple ongoing communication services. If a response with prioritization of one communication service has been received, the charging function (125) initiates termination of all ongoing communication services except the prioritized communication service, and provides all available credit to be available for the prioritized communication service.
Transferring funds between two parties
A method for transferring funds to a second electronic computing device includes establishing a first pre-paid payment account on a first electronic computing device. The first pre-paid payment account is used to establish one or more second pre-paid payment accounts. The one or more second pre-paid payment accounts have a value that is less than or equal to the first pre-paid payment account. A first account identifier is obtained for one of the second pre-paid payment accounts. The first account identifier is sent to the second electronic computing device. The sending of the first account identifier to the second electronic computing device results in a transfer of ownership of the one more second pre-paid accounts from a first user at the first electronic computing device to a second user at the second electronic computing device.
