TEMPORARY NETWORK LINK PERFORMANCE ELEVATION

Devices, systems, and methods for temporary link performance elevation are disclosed herein. In one embodiment, a link performance elevation (LPE) request is received. The LPE request is a request to temporarily boost performance of a network link between an endpoint and a service provider for a finite duration. Based on the LPE request, a temporary performance boost is activated for the network link at the start of the finite duration, and the temporary performance boost is deactivated for the network link at the end of the finite duration.

Systems and methods for distributed charging in digital telecommunications networks

Techniques for distributed charging in digital telecommunications networks are disclosed. In one particular embodiment, the techniques may be realized as a method that includes provisioning a data path that carries a plurality of network flows, receiving a shared usage quota associated with the plurality of network flows, and allocating the shared usage quota among the plurality of network flows. For each network flow among the plurality of network flows, the method includes providing the data path with data indicative of an amount of the shared usage quota allocated to the network flow, configuring the data path to collect metering data associated with the network flow, and configuring the data path to enforce the shared usage quota based on the metering data associated with the network flow and the amount of the shared usage quota allocated to the network flow.

System and method for encoding of local bandwidth conditions into tunneling message

A method, a system, and a non-transitory storage medium provide for encoding a general packet radio service (GPRS)-tunnel endpoint identifier (GTP-TEID) with data identifying radio frequency (RF) bandwidths supported in a local radio environment (LRE) from which a user equipment (UE) device accesses the wireless access station; sending, via a signaling channel, the GTP-TEID to a core network device; notifying one or more core network devices of an RF bandwidth category level corresponding to the identified RF bandwidths; and applying at least one of a policy rule or a charging rule to a packet data unit (PDU) session for the UE device, based on the RF bandwidth category level.

RESOLVING UNSATISFACTORY QoE FOR 5G NETWORKS OR HYBRID 5G NETWORKS

A system and method for resolving an unsatisfactory quality of experience (QoE) for an application executed on a wireless device that accesses a CSP network is described. A QoE network appliance generates an integrated event stream that includes a RAN data set, a CN data set, a NWDAF data set, a QoE latency measurement, a QoE bandwidth measurement, and a QoE packet loss rate measurement. A measured QoE score is generated with the RAN data set, the CN data set, and the NWDAF data set. The measured QoE score is associated with a QoE latency measurement, a QoE bandwidth measurement, and a QoE packet loss rate measurement. A robotics process automation (RPA) module receives the integrated event stream when the measured QoE score fails to satisfy the QoE requirement. The RPA module performs one or more automated actions to improve the measured QoE based on information from the integrated event stream.

Session recovery from dedicated bearer failure

Techniques and systems for recovering a communication session from a dedicated bearer failure are disclosed. For example, a P-CSCF node can determine that a dedicated bearer associated with a communication session has failed, and, in response, send a SIP message to a UE associated with the communication session, the SIP message causing the UE to refrain from sending SIP requests using a SIP INVITE method. The process may further include identifying a first network node associated with an identifier of the UE, the first network node comprising one of a PGW or a SMF, and sending an instruction to the first network node to dissociate the dedicated bearer from the communication session. This causes a new attach procedure to be performed by the UE to recover the session without session failure.

METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR A CHARGEABLE PARTY AT A SESSION MANAGEMENT WITH REQUIRED QUALITY OF SERVICE

Methods and apparatuses for data transmission. A method implemented at a first network function may comprise obtaining information related to network slice selection; and sending a reroute message to an access network node, wherein the reroute message including a container comprising at least one information element of the information related to network slicing selection.

Disclosed herein are various embodiments to prevent, detect, or take action in response to the moving a device credential from one device to another, the improper configuration of a service processor, a missing service processor, or the tampering with a service processor in device-assisted services (DAS) systems.

Method and apparatus for establishing guaranteed bit rate (GBR) quality of service (QoS) flow in session

A method includes receiving, by a session management function (SMF), first information from an access and mobility management function (AMF), obtaining, by the SMF, protocol data unit (PDU) session management subscription information from a unified data management (UDM) module, and when dynamic policy and charging control (PCC) is not deployed, establishing, by the SMF based on the first information and at least one of the PDU session management subscription information and local PDU session policy information of the SMF, a default GBR QoS flow in the PDU session.

Systems and methods for enabling optimized reporting related to policy control request triggers

A first network device may receive, from a second network device, a first policy control create request and may provide, to the second network device, a common policy control request trigger. The first network device may receive a second policy control create request associated with a user equipment (UE) and may cause a UE policy to be provided to the UE. The first network device may receive, from a third network device, a third policy control create request and may provide a network device policy to the third network device. The first network device may receive, from the second network device, a policy control update request based on the common policy control request trigger and may generate an updated UE policy or an updated network device policy based on the policy control update request.
