DYNAMIC PROPRIOCEPTION
A wearable device such as a garment is disclosed, having at least one resistance element at a motion segment such as a hip or knee. The garment includes at least one sensor, for sensing a parameter. Electronics are provided for processing the sensed parameter, and for providing feedback. Feedback may be in the form of proprioceptive tactile or audible feedback, or in the form of an adjustment of a performance parameter of the wearable device. In one implementation, resistance to movement of the wearer is adjusted up or down in response to changes in power output by the wearer.
MAGNETO-RHEOLOGICAL FLUID ROTARY RESISTANCE DEVICE
A resistance device applied to relative rotations between a flywheel and an axis includes an inner stator, an outer rotor, a conductive wire and a magneto-rheological fluid. The inner stator is fixedly joined with the axis and includes an accommodating space surrounding the axis at a position away from the axis. The outer rotor, fixedly joined with the flywheel, encloses and rotates relative to the inner stator. An accommodating gap is formed between the outer rotor and the inner stator at a position away from the axis. The conducting line is winded in the accommodating space, and generates a magnetic line passing the accommodating gap when applied by an electric current. The magneto-rheological fluid is filled in the accommodating gap. Thus, the outer rotor is disposed at the outer most to increase the braking torque, and the magneto-rheological fluid is away from the axis to increasing the braking moment.
Wearable resistance garment with power measurement
Disclosed is a technical training garment configured for use with modular, interchangeable electronics and resistance modules. The garment provides resistance to movement throughout an angular range of motion and tracks biomechanical parameters such as stride length, stride rate, angular velocity and incremental power expended by the wearer. The garment may be low profile, and worn by a wearer as a primary garment or beneath or over conventional clothing. Alternatively, the device may be worn as a supplemental training tool during conventional training protocols.
Full-body exercise system including a plurality of independently operable appendicular members
A full-body exercise system is described. The full-body exercise system includes a frame, and plurality of appendicular members extending from the frame. Each of the plurality of appendicular members is configured for engagement with a respective limb of a user. Further, each of the plurality of appendicular members is movable in a degree of freedom independent of other ones of the plurality of appendicular members. The full-body exercise system also includes a resistive system configured to provide a resistive force on each of the plurality of appendicular members with respect to movement in its respective degree of freedom. The resistive force provided by the resistive system on each of the plurality of appendicular members is adjustable in a generally continuous manner independent of resistive forces on other ones of the plurality of appendicular members.
Modular Exercise System
A modular exercise system is described wherein the system utilizes a universal hydraulic actuator attached to a mount. A connector is attached to the universal hydraulic actuator opposite the mount. The universal hydraulic actuator preferably comprises two hydraulic rotary actuators with non-parallel axis of rotation.
Apparatus, in particular for balance training, having at least one moveable platform
An apparatus, in particular for balance training and/or fine motor training, includes at least one moveable platform, which is in at least two dimensions oscillatingly moveable, and at least one damping unit for a damping of movements of the moveable platform. The damping unit comprises a central connecting element, which extends at least partially along a zero axis of a rest position of the platform, for the connection of the platform and the damping unit and for a transfer of an at least two-dimensional movement of the platform.
Networked game system having multiple full-body exercise apparatus controllers
An exercise network system is disclosed that comprises an electronic data communication link and a plurality of electronic video game workout systems. One or more of the plurality of electronic video game workout systems is configured for communication with at least one other video game workout system another over the electronic data communication link to transmit and receive data used for game play at each of the plurality of electronic video game workout systems. One or more of the electronic video game workout systems is further configured for execution of a full-body workout using a plurality of independently operable appendicular members configured for engagement with respective limbs of a user. Each of the plurality of appendicular members is movable in a degree of freedom independent of other ones of the plurality of appendicular members. Resistance on each of the plurality of appendicular members the is adjustable along and/or about its degree of freedom during game play based on locally generated data and data communicated over the electronic data communication link from other electronic video game workout systems.
