Simulating continuous millimeter wave band access to a telecommunications network
The disclosed technology includes at least one method performed by a system of a telecommunications network. The system can establish a communications link between the wireless device and a network access node (NAN) of the 5G network. While connected over a non-mmW band, the wireless device autonomously schedules data downloads to occur when the wireless device is on an mmW band. The system then receives a request from the wireless device to perform the data downloads, which can be enabled by a packet gateway (PGW) upon receiving a confirmation by the NAN that the wireless device can connect over the mmW band. Otherwise, the PGW denies the wireless device's request to perform the data downloads, which can be enforced by the NAN.
Loading a Web Page in a Telecommunication Network Using an Access Point Server
An internet protocol (IP) access point sends, to a requesting device, a modified version of a first web page comprising first modifications made in accordance with policy handling information, and receives, from the requesting device, a request for a second web page. Responsive to detecting that the request for the second web page comprises one or more of the first modifications, the IP access point sends a modified version of the second web page comprising second modifications made in accordance with the policy handling information to the requesting device.
ELECTRONIC DEVICE FOR VEHICLES
Disclosed is an electronic device for vehicles including a processor configured to transmit and receive information to and from an external server that supports an autonomous traveling service based on 5G communication in a sensor autonomous traveling mode or in a communication autonomous traveling mode and to switch to an integrated mode in which an autonomous traveling control signal is generated based on a possible autonomous traveling function of an ego vehicle based on sensor data and an auxiliary autonomous traveling function that assists the possible autonomous traveling function of an ego vehicle or an additional autonomous traveling function that is additionally required.
SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR A NETWORK ACCESS SERVICE
A network access system providing network access to a mobile terminal or other device via an untrusted access point such as a wireless access point in an untrusted network. The access point registers with a service gateway, and the wireless terminal connects with the access point and receives a first network address for use with the service gateway. The terminal registers with the service gateway via the access point, and a context identity is maintained at the service gateway, associating the terminal with the access point for the duration of the connection. The terminal can then access a wider network through the service gateway. The service gateway may maintain billing and reward data associated with the context identity.
Method and apparatus for content presentation in association with a telephone call
A method and apparatus are provided for presenting multimedia content to a caller and/or a called party in association with a telephone call. Content may be presented pre-ring (before the called party's telephone rings), in-call, and/or post-call. Content presented to a party may be related to another party participating in the call or may be related to a third party (e.g., an advertiser that paid for the ability to have its content presented). Presented content may be actuable, to allow a caller to change the destination of a call, take advantage of an offer presented to him or her, redeem a coupon, schedule or queue a subsequent call, etc. To find a desired destination party, a caller may initiate a manual or automatic search of his or her local contacts (on his telephone) and/or a central or global directory or contact list.
CHARGING AND POLICY INTERFACE FOR LOCAL BREAKOUT EDGE GATEWAY
An edge network gateway, located in an edge network and connected to a core network, receives packets for a local breakout (LBO) Protocol Data Unit (PDU) session associated with a mobile subscriber. The edge network gateway sends, based on receipt of the packets for the LBO PDU session, a request for charging to a core network node, and forwards the packets for the LBO PDU session to a network or multi-access edge computing (MEC) data center connected to the edge network. The edge network gateway sends, via an online charging interface, charging data counts for the packets of the LBO PDU session to the core network node for reporting to an Online Charging System and charging to the mobile subscriber.
SYSTEM AND METHODS FOR MANAGING COMMUNICATIONS EVENTS
An example communications routing system includes a prediction engine to, for each user account, generate a predicted cost of communications events using a gamma-gamma cost model, generate a predicted revenue of presented advertisements using a gamma-gamma revenue model, generate a margin based on the predicted cost and the predicted revenue, and, when the margin for a given user account is below a margin threshold, restrict a status associated with the given user account.
Toll-free telecommunications and data management platform
A Toll-Free Management Platform (TFMP) includes methods and systems for number administration, customer administration, call management services, texting services and text registry, and a smart services registry. The TFMP may allow users to receive through a web-based interface, an activate request from a user, wherein the request includes at least a customer record template reference and an indication of when to active a toll-free telecommunications number associated with the request. The request may include at least one IP address datum associated with the toll-free telecommunications number. A user interface may allow activating a toll-free number, and users may access the TFMP to create and access existing templates of toll-free call routing templates, and utilize a routing tree engine to create customized call routing trees for the toll-free numbers of interest to the user.
Determining dropped call rates in IP multimedia networks
Systems and methods are described herein for determining dropped call rates (DCR) for various communications networks, such as IP Multimedia Networks (IMS), which include Voice over LTE (VoLTE) networks. For example, the systems and methods utilize data (e.g. abnormal cause codes) generated by layers of the IMS networks, such as a Session Initiation Protocol (SIP) layer of the IMS network, when determining dropped call rates for IMS networks.
