VEHICLE AND METHOD OF PLATOONING CONTROL THEREFOR
A vehicle and method of platooning control therefor are provided to achieve optimum communication charge efficiency while a plurality of vehicles perform platooning. A data communication method of a platooning vehicle includes starting platooning by a plurality of vehicles and sharing data charge rate information through a first protocol for vehicle-to-vehicle communication (V2V) by the plurality of vehicles. A first master vehicle and at least one slave vehicle are determined based on the shared data charge rate information. An access point (AP) is then activated according to a second protocol for short distance communication by the first master vehicle and an AP of the master vehicle is accessed and data communication is performed by the at least one slave vehicle.
SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR REDUCING WIRELESS NETWORK CONGESTION
A computer-implemented method for reducing wireless network congestion comprising receiving an initial request for network access from a mobile device and transmitting a request to a PCRF. The method includes receiving, from the PCRF, a rejection message denying access to data, and denying the initial request for network access based on the rejection message. The method includes, in response to receiving the rejection message, storing information identifying the mobile device and the user associated with the initial request. The method includes receiving a subsequent request for network access, and scanning the memory to determine that identifying information associated with the subsequent request for network access matches the stored information associated with the initial request for network access. Based on the matching stored information associated with the initial and subsequent requests for network access, the method includes denying the subsequent request for network access.
Virtualized Policy & Charging System
A network system for providing one or more services to one or more end-user devices communicatively coupled to the network system over a wireless access network, the network system comprising: a policy enforcement function, a first policy element, a second policy element, and a network element, wherein the network element is communicatively coupled to the policy enforcement function, the first policy element, and the second policy element, and wherein the network element is configured to communicate first policy information between the policy enforcement function and the first policy element, and communicate second policy information between the first policy enforcement function and the second policy element.
Methods and apparatuses for service layer charging correlation with underlying networks
Mechanisms for service layer charging correlation are disclosed. Embodiments can include a Service Domain Charging Correlation Function (SD-CCF), which is responsible for interacting with underlying network and correlating charging information at service layer. Charging correlation information can be used to enable and facilitate the service layer charging correlation.
Managing Service User Discovery and Service Launch Object Placement on a Device
Methods and apparatuses to manage service user discovery and service launch object placement on a device. A method comprising: obtaining information to assist in identifying a portion of a user interface of a wireless device, the wireless device communicatively coupled to a network system over a wireless access network; determining a differentiating attribute of the identified portion of the user interface; obtaining one or more service launch objects for placement in the identified portion of the user interface; and sending configuration information to the wireless device over the wireless access network to assist the wireless device in placing the one or more service launch objects in the identified portion of the user interface.
Wireless End-User Device Providing Ambient or Sponsored Services
A wireless end-user device is disclosed. One or more user inputs indicate that a user of the wireless end-user device authorizes the device to send a first file to a server over a network of a first network type, and that the user does not authorize the device to send a second file to the server over the network of the first type. Based on the one or more user inputs and a determination that the device is connected to the network of the first type, the device sends the first file, but not the second file, to the server over the network of the first network type. Upon detecting that the device is connected to a network of the second network type, the device sends the second file to the server over the network of the second network type.
Automated Communications Pool Plan Management Robot
A system and computer implemented method which determines usage and available rate plans, at least some of which are pool eligible. Based on expected usage for a billing cycle, the system and method modifies rate plans for one or more devices to migrate devices in and out of the pool(s) and/or modify plans and data available to the pool in order to reduce cost of telecommunications services for the devices.
DYNAMIC SUBSCRIBER PROFILE MANAGEMENT
A dynamic subscriber profile management system allows subscriber device profiles to be selected and applied based on the subscriber profile based on device type, a location of the device, or a combination of both. The system may receive information relating to the subscriber, the type of device, and the location of the device to perform a lookup of available profiles or profile settings and either update an existing profile for current use or select a profile from a catalog of available profiles.
Synchronous interfacing with unaffiliated networked systems to alter functionality of sets of electronic assets
Systems and methods for managing a set of electronic assets from a single location are disclosed. The method includes providing a portal with a network security access control. The method includes determining that login credentials input to the access control are associated with a set of electronic assets corresponding to a plurality of third-party computing systems with application programming interface (API) gateways configured to accept an API call directed to changes in functionality of the electronic assets. The method includes presenting, via the portal, a virtual icon to identify a coordinated action with respect to the set of electronic assets and, in response to a selection of the virtual icon, executing a set of API calls that include an asset-specific API call to each third-party computing system in the plurality of third-party computing systems to implement the coordinated action on all electronic assets in the set of electronic assets.
APPARATUS AND METHOD FOR BACKGROUND DATA TRANSFER
An exposure node (50) receives a first request for resource management for future background data transfer between an application service provider and a plurality of radio terminals (10) from a server (60) associated with the application service provider and send a second request to a policy control node (40) in response to receiving the first request. The first request includes a parameter indicating whether background data transfer not complying with a previously agreed or negotiated transfer policy should be stopped, or whether the background data transfer should continue under a charging rule different from a previously agreed charging rule. The second request includes the parameter obtained from the first request. This enables the application service provider to negotiate with the radio communication network about handling of background data transfer not complying with a previously agreed transfer policy.
