A method may include determining a number of user devices that can access data services in a wireless network and storing information identifying the determined number of user devices for each of a number of sectors for each of a number of periods of time. The method may also include receiving a request from a first user device associated with a first user for access to data services during a first period of time, accessing the stored information to determine whether to grant the request and providing access to data services via the wireless network to the first user device. The method may further include excluding data usage by the first user device during the first period of time from being applied against a data limit associated with the user's data plan.
Communication Coverage Navigation
A processor may be configured to access mapping data for a route to a destination, as well as information associated with a mobile device that may include usage data of the mobile device, a user profile associated with the mobile device, or demographic data associated with a user of the mobile device. The route to the destination may be displayed along with an indicator of the predicted coverage for the mobile device along the route.
Managing access to mobile content using location-based services
Methods for selectively filtering message content received at a mobile device based upon a current location of the mobile device and/or a user's presence status and devices configured to selectively filter message content based upon a location of the mobile device and/or a user's presence status.
System and method for correlating user call response to electronic messages
A method of correlating outgoing electronic communications with received electronic messages includes: sending an electronic message associated with a second party to a first party; subsequently receiving an outgoing electronic communication from the first party by the second party; automatically determining whether the outgoing electronic communication resulted from the electronic message, based on electronically stored information about the sending of the electronic message and about the subsequently received outgoing electronic communication; and if it is determined that the outgoing electronic communication resulted from the electronic message, flagging the outgoing electronic communication to have a different status from outgoing electronic communications not determined to have resulted from an electronic message.
Network connection communication system
Provided is a technology that makes it possible for billing and balance management in the form of units that are difficult to understand for a user, to be expressed and managed in the form of units that are easy to understand from the viewpoint of the actual purpose of use. The network connection communication system is provided with means for expressing the unit price of network usage in terms of units that a user can understand more intuitively in the light of the purpose for which the network is used. For instance, the number of connection minutes (time), the number of books purchased and downloaded over the network, or the number of connections to a communicating partner can be used depending on the purpose of use of a service.
Communication coverage navigation
A network device may predict the use of a mobile device and configure a network based on the prediction. The network device may provide instructions to display coverage indicators for the mobile device based on the predictions.
SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR APPLICATION BASED SELECTION OF A RADIO NETWORK
Application-based selection of a network is disclosed. An electronic device provides data connectivity. The device includes: an application, the application being associated to a list of preferred radio networks for exchanging data over the radio networks; a connection manager to detect and connect the device with a radio network for exchanging data over the radio network; an event processor operable to detect the triggering of the application, the connection manager being further configured, when the event detector reports the triggering of the application, to retrieve the list of preferred radio networks associated to the application, connect with a radio network selected from the retrieved list of preferred radio networks, and process a data connectivity request from the application over the registered radio network.
Multiple-factor authentication
One example involves a method for providing communications services to remotely-situated client entities, wherein each client entity is associated with users and each user is associated with a communication device. For providing the services verification may be realized by using authentication factors, and a communication request generated with at least one of the authentication factors. The generated communication request may include a first portion specifying at least one target endpoint associated with the user and a second portion associated with or indicating the security code and that includes a set of instructions which: are specific to the user, which specify how to communicate the security code for the user, and which specify different security codes for different types of communications. The security code is sent to the user according to the set of instructions, and verified via a second authentication factor is implemented.
