Method and network entity for control of value added service (VAS)

The present disclosure provides a method (200) in a network entity for control of a Value Added Service (VAS) to be provided for a user. The method (200) comprises: receiving (S210) from another network entity an indication of an account status of a VAS related account associated with the user; determining (S220) a VAS control policy for the VAS based on the account status; and transmitting (S230) the VAS control policy to a network controller that controls provision of the VAS.

PREDICTING SUBSCRIBER EXPERIENCE BASED ON QOE

The disclosed technology teaches alerting a network operator to deteriorated wireless network conditions with granularity and reduced false alerts, including receiving tracked performance indicators (KPIs) for multiple components of voice, data and messaging and accessing a mapping for combining the performance indicators into quality sub-indicators for individual users and into key quality indicators (KQI) for the individual users. This includes smoothing the current KQI measures of performance over time to reduce the impact of brief transitory events, accessing a weekly profile of KQIs, and comparing KQIs for a current time window to past KQIs for a corresponding time window for the individual users operating mobile devices in part of the cellular network that is a focus of interest. Based on the comparing, the disclosed technology includes generating alerts that report out-of-range current KQIs within the focus of interest that are persistently out-of-range for longer than a configurable time.

Connectivity system for establishing data access in a foreign mobile network

This disclosure is directed to establishing data access for a mobile device in a foreign mobile network. An exemplary method comprises executing a first attach operation (e.g., an IMSI attach operation) for a mobile device, the first attach operation resulting in a successful first attachment for the mobile device; determining, for a particular period, non-execution of a second attach operation (e.g., a GPRS operation) for a second attachment for the mobile device; classifying, based on the successful first attachment and the non-execution of the second attach operation for the particular period, the mobile device as a silent roamer; and determining whether the mobile device is associated with a data package for establishing a first quota of data access.

Detection of a delinquent mobile device

A method and system of detecting a delinquent mobile user device. An international mobile subscriber identity (IMSI) of a subscriber identity module (SIM) card of the user device is determined by the user device. The IMSI is sent to a Remote Recovery Server (RRS). A message is received from the RRS as to whether the IMSI is authorized for the user device. Upon determining that the IMSI is not authorized for the user device, a notification is displayed on a display of the user device.

Wireless communication terminal that sends a message of the intention of a user to continue a call

A radio communication control device accepts a call-up from a radio communication terminal and includes a unit configured to detect the degree of jamming in a cell, a unit configured to confirm the intention of a user of a terminal concerned as to whether the call-up is continued regardless of addition of an extra to the user's telephone call charge when the call-up has been made from a radio communication terminal in the cell concerned in a specific jammed state, a unit configured to block the call-up concerned in accordance with the confirmed intention of the user of the terminal concerned and a unit configured to change charge setting so as to add an extra to the user's telephone call charge when the call-up has not been blocked in the specific jammed state.

RESTORING FUNCTIONALITY OF A MOBILE DEVICE

A method and system of restoring a functionality of a mobile user device. A lock screen is displayed on the display of the user device. An international mobile subscriber identity (IMSI) of a subscriber identity module (SIM) card presently installed in the user device is determined. The IMSI is sent to a Remote Recovery Server (RRS). A message is received from the RRS indicating whether the IMSI is authorized for the user device and whether an account of the user device is replenished at least in part. Upon determining that the IMSI is authorized for the user device and the account of the user device is replenished at least in part, at least one function that was previously restricted is restored.

Enforcement of compliance rules
