A method for accessing a network. In one embodiment, the method includes at least one computer processor identifying a request from a first device to utilize wireless communication capabilities of a second device to communicate with a wireless network. The method further includes generating a secure peer-to-peer communication link between the first device and the second device. The method further includes establishing a wireless communication link between the second device and the wireless network. The method further includes transmitting one or more communications from the first device to the wireless network, via the wireless communication capabilities of the second device.

A method for accessing a network. An ingress call filter system enables real-time or near real-time efficiencies of an inter-carrier switch. The ingress call filter determines if a received call to a called party is likely to fail. If the call is likely to fail, the ingress call filter returns an indication that the call should be filtered or rejected. If the call in not likely to fail, the ingress call filter returns an indication that a call router should attempt to establish the call. Such techniques mitigate penalties assessed to the inter-carrier network for incomplete or failed calls in real time or near real time.

A method associated with a contactless phone. The method includes sending a balance inquiry response message to a mobile phone. The mobile phone includes a contactless element that is configured to communicate with a contactless reader in a point of sale terminal. The account balance inquiry response message provides an account balance for an account associated with the mobile phone. The mobile phone is operated by a consumer. The method also includes sending a transaction alert message to the mobile phone, where the transaction alert message informs the consumer that a transaction has occurred using the account. The method also includes sending an offer message to the mobile phone, where the offer message provides a benefit to the consumer if the consumer uses the mobile phone to conduct a predetermined transaction.

A mobile device with a disabling feature is disclosed. The method includes activating a mobile device having a timeout feature to disable a function of the mobile device after a set period of time. The period of time may be chosen by a user of the mobile device.

A method associated with a contactless phone. The method includes sending a balance inquiry response message to a mobile phone. A method and system for payments for mobile phone payments with a disabling feature is disclosed. The method includes activating a mobile phone containing contactless payment systems, and having a timeout feature disable the contactless payment systems after a set period of time.

A method and system are disclosed for sending notifications asynchronously over a telephony network. The method and system include receiving a request over a first telephony connection from a first communication device associated with a first user identifying a second communication device associated with a second user, sending one or more response communications over the first telephony connection to the first communication device associated with the first user, disconnecting the first telephony connection with the first communication device of the first user, and sending a notification over a second telephony connection to the second communication device associated with the second user, the notification including information sufficient to allow the second user to identify the first user or the first communication device associated with the first user.

In a case where a second license for an application corresponding to a first license that is issued based on license information is to be issued based on different license information including a licensed period continuous to the licensed period of the first license, a usage period is set such that the ending time of the first license can be continuous to the starting time of the second license to issue the second license.
