Device and Process for Data Throttling for Wireless Device
The disclosure provides a system and method for controlling on a wireless device the amount and speed of data transferred between a wireless device and the Internet, and a wireless device with a metering client that can throttle data speeds and types based on how much data a user has used. Specifically, the wireless device includes a metering client to track one of data usage or an amount of prepaid data available. When the metering client determines that the amount of data available has exceeded a pre-determined threshold, the wireless device inhibits further data transmission amounts and speeds.
Call Processing System for Modifying Inmate Communication Limits
A system for customizing time limits for inmate communications in a correctional facility is disclosed. The system includes a profile subsystem that stores an inmate profile of the inmate and a communication processing subsystem comprising one or more processors configured to receive data of an inmate communication of an inmate, identify a type of communication device of the inmate and a call recipient of the inmate communication based on the data of the inmate communication, retrieve the inmate profile of the inmate form the profile subsystem, identify a plurality of behaviors of the inmate based on the inmate profile, determine a time limit based on at least one of the type of communication device, the call recipient of the inmate communication, and the plurality of behaviors of the inmate, and assign the time limit to the inmate communication of the inmate.
Universal Ring Free
A method and system are disclosed for sending notifications asynchronously over a telephony network. The method and system include receiving a request over a first telephony connection from a first communication device associated with a first user identifying a second communication device associated with a second user, sending one or more response communications over the first telephony connection to the first communication device associated with the first user, disconnecting the first telephony connection with the first communication device of the first user, and sending a notification over a second telephony connection to the second communication device associated with the second user, the notification including information sufficient to allow the second user to identify the first user or the first communication device associated with the first user.
CONTROLLING COMMUNICATIONS
Apparatuses and methods for controlling communication of a user terminal in a communication system are provided. The solution comprises determining that a data connection of an access point name or data network name of the user terminal does not fulfil a predetermined condition, and transmitting to a network unit maintaining information on subscriber information of users of the network a message on the basis of determination, the message indicating the access point name or data network name of the user terminal is to be deactivated or the data connection of the access point name or data network name is to be directed to a predetermined server.

DYNAMIC ADAPTATION OF MAXIMUM PACKET LOSS RATE (PLR) FOR SINGLE RADIO VOICE CALL CONTINUITY (SRVCC) HANDOVER OPTIMIZATION USING SESSION DESCRIPTION PROTOCOL (SDP)
User equipment (UE) includes processing circuitry, where to configure the UE for Single Radio Voice Call Continuity (SRVCC) handover from an LTE network to a legacy network with circuit switched (CS) communications, the processing circuitry is to encode a Session Description Protocol (SDP) message for transmission to a second UE within the LTE network. The SDP message includes a voice codec selection for voice over LTE communication with the second UE and a maximum end-to-end packet loss rate (E2E_MAX_PLR) that can be tolerated by the UE when using the voice codec. The UE decodes an SRVCC handover command from an eNB within the LTE network, the handover command based on at least one packet loss rate (PLR) associated with a packet switched voice communication link between the UE and the second UE exceeding a PLR threshold that is determined based on the E2E_MAX_PLR that can be tolerated by the UE.
Arrangement and method for dynamic quota allocation in communication network
Electronic arrangement for dynamically reserving quota having regard to the capacity of one or more resources available in a communications network, comprises one or more data interfaces such as transceivers for transferring data, at least one processor for processing instructions and other data, and memory for storing the instructions and other data, said at least one processor being configured, in accordance with the stored instructions, to cause: receiving a quota request with indication of a requested extent of quota, wherein the quota request is further associated with all-or-none preference indicator as to whether the request should be fulfilled completely, obtaining an indication of a currently remaining, unused and unreserved, quota of an account associated with the quota request, determining whether and to which degree, including in full, in part and not at all, the request may be granted in terms of reserving the requested quota based on at least the requested extent, the remaining quota and the preference indicator, wherein the indicator is utilized in the determination so that indicated preference on complete fulfillment of quota request translates into reduced criterion in quota allocation and vice versa, and providing a response to the quota request indicative of extent of granted, reserved quota, if any, where the response optionally refers to a signaling message. A corresponding method for reserving quota is presented.
MOBILE ELECTRONIC COMMUNICATIONS WITH GRACE PERIOD
A mobile communications device receives an indication of a balance from a server when establishment of a voice call or sending of a message is requested. The mobile communications device determines whether the balance is sufficient to place the voice call or send the message over a mobile network. If the balance is sufficient to place the voice call or send the message over the mobile network, the voice call is established or the message is sent under normal operating conditions. If the balance is insufficient to place the voice call or send the message over the mobile network, a grace period is activated and the voice call is established or the message is sent during the grace period over an available wireless local-area network.
Methods and systems for abuse detection of zero-rated data
A method for detecting abuse of zero-rated data includes monitoring usage patterns of a group of users for a particular data type, including zero-rated data usage by the group of users and setting a zero-rated data-usage threshold for the particular data type based at least in part on the monitored usage. The method also includes continuing to monitor the usage patterns of the group of users for the particular data type during a period of time, including the zero-rated data usage of the group of users. The method further includes determining whether a zero-rated data usage for the particular data type by a user in the group during the period of time satisfies the zero-rated threshold, and in response to determining that the zero-rated data usage by the user during the period of time satisfies the zero-rated threshold, flagging an account associated with the user as a potential abuser.
