TECHNIQUES FOR USING TARGET INFORMATION IN WIRELESS COMMUNICATIONS
Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A source user equipment (UE) may determine which subscriber identity module (SIM) card to use based on information of the target UE. For example, the target UE may have poor call quality using a first SIM, but high call quality when using a second SIM. The target UE may indicate the call quality for each SIM in subscription information to the source UE. The source UE may determine to use the second SIM of the target UE instead of the first SIM, resulting in higher call quality for the target UE. The subscription information may include a variety of information related to the target UE, such as subscriptions of the target UE, RAT availabilities for the target UE, etc. The target UE may also configure settings for receiving or rejecting data calls. The target UE may configure whether to receive data calls based on connectivity parameters.
Systems and methods for product activation
The disclosure is related to systems and methods of smart packaging. In one example, a package can include an embedded data storage element that is readable at a point-of-sale terminal and includes custom data stored on the data storage element. The custom data may be associated with a specific product related to the package, such as a SIM card or phone. The custom data can include information to allow a process related to the product to be performed. The process may include allowing activation of the product only when an indicator at a server indicates the package was processed at an authorized terminal.
SETTLEMENT SYSTEM, USER TERMINAL AND METHOD EXECUTED BY SAME, SETTLEMENT DEVICE AND METHOD EXECUTED BY SAME, AND PROGRAM
A settlement system with higher security which replaces a settlement system using credit cards is provided. The settlement system has a user terminal, a settlement device, and a settlement terminal. First, a user ID, a password, and amount information identifying an amount are inputted in the user terminal (S912), and sent to the settlement device (S913). The settlement device performs credit determination (S922), generates temporary permission information if credit is possible (S923), and sends the temporary permission information to the user terminal (S924). The user terminal generates a one-time password (S915). The one-time password is inputted to the settlement terminal (S931). If the one-time password sent from the settlement terminal to the settlement device is identical to the one-time password created in the settlement device (S926), the settlement device allows a user's payment (S927).
Detection of a delinquent mobile device
A method and system of detecting a delinquent mobile user device. An international mobile subscriber identity (IMSI) of a subscriber identity module (SIM) card of the user device is determined by the user device. The IMSI is sent to a Remote Recovery Server (RRS). A message is received from the RRS as to whether the IMSI is authorized for the user device. Upon determining that the IMSI is not authorized for the user device, a notification is displayed on a display of the user device.
METHOD AND SYSTEM FOR REVENUE MAXIMIZATION IN A COMMUNICATION NETWORK
Method and system for revenue maximization in a communication network. This invention relates to management of communication networks and more particularly to monitoring information of a subscriber of a communication network. Embodiments herein enable the network operator to collect and profile usage information of a subscriber on a User Equipment (UE) with the intention of using the information for revenue maximization applications and preventing fraud for a network operator, wherein revenue maximization applications include but are not limited to fraud management, revenue assurance, churn management, customer experience management, credit risk management and partner settlement.
Device-enabled eSIM Profile Acquisition
Device-enabled embedded subscriber identity module (eSIM) profile acquisition is described. Server(s) associated with a service provider can receive, from an application of a device operated by a user, identification data including at least an identifier corresponding to an eSIM associated with the device. The server(s) can store an association between a profile and the identifier in a database. The server(s) can receive, from the device, a request for the profile, which can include the identifier. The server(s) can access the database to identify, based at least in part on the identifier, the association between the profile and the identifier and provision, to the device, the profile to cause the profile to be associated with the eSIM associated with the device.
Communicating mobility events in an IMS network environment
The disclosed system provides a facility to communicate to an Internet Protocol Multimedia Subsystem (IMS) network an indication of mobility events occurring in a telecommunications access network. A mobile device connects to a first base station (e.g., an eNodeB) and registers on an IMS network. A component in the IMS network, such as a telephone application server (TAS), stores the first identifier. In addition, the TAS creates or modifies a call detail record (CDR) to indicate that the mobile phone is connected to the base station. After a handover occurs from the first base station to a second base station, the mobile device transmits to the IMS network a second identifier that uniquely identifies the second base station. The mobile device transmits the identifier of the second base station to the TAS within the IMS network via, e.g. an XCAP PUT or POST request. After receiving the second identifier, the TAS stores the received second identifier and modifies a CDR to reflect the received second identifier.
Methods, systems, and computer readable media for validating user equipment (UE) location
A method for validating UE location includes receiving, at a network gateway, a signaling message for updating a location of a UE with a mobile communications network. A first indication of user equipment location is extracted from the signaling message. One of: a cloud-based UE location database containing UE location information obtained from a UE location reporting application resident on the UE, a cloud-based loyalty card transaction database containing loyalty card transaction records indexed by UE identifiers, and a mobile location center (MLC) that obtains UE location information by requesting or receiving the UE location information from a mobility management entity (MME) is queried to obtain a second indication of location of the UE. It is determined from a relationship between the first and second indications of location of the UE that the signaling message is suspicious. In response to determining that the signaling message is suspicious, a policy rule is applied to processing of the signaling message.
SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR PAYING A MERCHANT BY A REGISTERED USER USING A CELLULAR TELEPHONE ACCOUNT
A system and method allows users to make purchases by charging or funding a prepaid debit card with their cell phone accounts by simulating a user roaming with their mobile device.
System and method for distributing personal identification numbers over a computer network
The present invention comprises a system and method for providing a personal identification number (PIN) to a client terminal over a computer network. In accordance with one aspect of the present invention, a host connection manager receives a request for a PIN, which is associated with a particular monetary value. The host connection manager transmits the request for the PIN to a server, and the host connection manager receives the PIN from the server. In addition, the host connection manager is adapted to receive a client request indicative of the particular monetary value. The client request is generated at the client terminal and is transmitted from the client terminal to the host connection manager. In response to the client request, the host connection manager sends the PIN associated with the particular monetary value to the client terminal.
