09692276 · 2017-06-27 · ·

A system and method for mechanically coupling an energy harvester to strength training type exercise equipment is disclosed. An energy harvester with unwanted vibration forces is mechanically isolated from exercise equipment by a system comprising a plurality of mechanically compliant vibration isolators and a ballast mass; a flexible cord, pre-loaded with a near constant force spring is used to transmit motion from the weight stack to the energy harvester; the flexible cord has a force limiting feature to pre-excessive force from being transmitted from the energy harvester to the weight stack during an exercise motion.

EXERCISE DEVICES AND METHODS WITH RETRACTABLE CORDS

An exercise apparatus includes a first cord, a second cord, and an adjustment mechanism. The first cord is pullable from and retractable around a first pulley. The second cord is pullable from and retractable around a second pulley. The adjustment mechanism allows for adjusting a pull-out tension provided by the first cord independently of a retraction tension provided by the first cord. The pull-out tension provided by the first cord is a tension provided by the first cord when the first cord is pulled from the first pulley. The retraction tension provided by the first cord is a tension provided by the first cord when the first cord is retracted around the first pulley.

An upper limb training apparatus includes a training apparatus main body that includes a base frame, and an operation rod to be operated by a trainee by hand. A chair is positioned in a right or in a left arm training position relative to the training apparatus main body. A monitor stand extends upward from the base frame. A monitor arm is provided in the monitor stand, and supports the monitor such that the position of the monitor can be adjusted in both right and left directions.

In one aspect of the present exercise machine, an assembly is attached to the end of a reformer, where the assembly comprises a seat mechanism and a pedal mechanism. The seat mechanism has a seat, a bracket supporting the seat, and a height adjustment system, where activation of the height adjustment system permits selective adjustment and locking of the height of the seat and the bracket by restricting travel of the seat and bracket to a slanted path that is slanted relative to the vertical. The pedal mechanism has an axle, a first pedal arm with a first pedal, and a second pedal arm with a second pedal. The pedal mechanism is located directly beneath the seat when the seat mechanism is in a lowest position and partially exposed in a higher position.

In an upper limb training apparatus, a movable frame is supported by a fixed frame placed on a floor surface such that the movable frame can tilt in all directions. An operation rod including an operation rod main body and an attachment fixed portion is attached to the movable frame and can extend and contract. The attachment fixed portion, to which an attachment is fixed, is attached to the tip of the operation rod main body and includes an elastic member that absorbs forces in any directions other than the axial direction relative to the operation rod main body. The axial displacement detecting section can thereby grasp just the axial force applied to the operation rod by detecting the displacement of attachment fixed portion in the axial direction.

Pedal support structure and pedal support system

A left leg unit includes a vertical piece; a horizontal piece; a vertical guide groove; a horizontal guide groove; an outer coupling bar to which the vertical piece and the horizontal piece are rotatably coupled, thereby coupling the vertical piece and the horizontal piece to each other; and a pedal that is rotatably coupled to the outer coupling bar. The vertical guide groove and the horizontal guide groove are extended in such a way that they intersect with each other. A rotation axis of the pedal is disposed away from a rotation axis of the vertical piece and a rotation axis of the horizontal piece and is disposed away from a midpoint of a line that connects the rotation axis of the vertical piece and the rotation axis of the horizontal piece, whereby the rotation axis of the pedal moves along an elliptical trajectory.

BILATERAL RETRACTABLE BAND/CORD DEVICE WITH HANDLES
20250339728 · 2025-11-06 ·

A bilateral retractable band/cord device with handles on both ends (FIG. 1). Each handle element (110) attaches to a housing member (116) internally consisting of a spring biased retractable spool axel (238) that protracts outwardly or retracts inwardly a shared band/cord element (134). A locking mechanism (132) on the outside of each housing member (116) locks the shared band/cord element (134) at any length between the handle elements (110). When the band/cord element (134) is elastic, this embodiment is a self-contained, bilateral, hand-held, multidimensional exercise tool that is adjustable to variable lengths while maintaining the handle elements (110) for comfort, stability, and portability. The ability to change the materials, sizes, shapes, and designs of each element of this device makes it versatile for a plethora of uses, e.g. an exercise device, a carry-assist device and a belt, with the advantages of stability, comfort, compactness, ease of use, and portability.
