SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR ALLOCATING VEHICLES IN RIDE-SHARING SYSTEMS
A method and a system for allocating vehicles to passengers in a ride-sharing system is provided. A passenger utilizes a passenger device to initiate a first phone call for booking a ride. The first phone call is initiated on a phone number associated with a pick-up location of the passenger. The first phone call is automatically disconnected, and a second phone call is established with the passenger device for providing a set of options selectable by the passenger. Based on an option selected by the passenger, a share-ride fare of the ride is communicated to the passenger during the second phone call. Based on the communicated share-ride fare, the passenger confirms the booking for the ride. In response to the confirmation of the booking for the ride, a vehicle is allocated to the passenger.
Call transfer between devices
One embodiment provides a method, including: employing a first device for a call; automatically detecting a transfer requirement between the first device and a second device; and transferring, from the first device to the second device, the call in response to the detecting. Other aspects are described and claimed.
Method and system for configuring caller line identification for short message service
A method performed by, and a system embedded within, a communication device operating in a communication network, performing the steps of: obtaining a plurality of caller identification codes for the caller device, where each of the caller identification codes identifies the caller device in a network; obtaining at least one rule for selecting a caller identification code from the plurality of caller identification codes according to a characteristic of the called device; obtaining a characteristic of the called device; selecting a caller identification code from the plurality of caller identification codes according to the characteristic of the destination telephone identification, or caller environment or destination environment parameters, or caller decision on the time of making the call; and forwarding the selected caller identification code to any of another communication network and a terminal device of a communication network.
Method of transmitting message and electronic device thereof
Disclosed are an electronic device and a method for transmitting a message. A method of operating an electronic device may include: determining by a processor whether a call with a counterpart electronic device is possible; and transmitting a call wish message through a communication network to the counterpart electronic device when the call is not possible based on a result of the determination.
Providing a phone call which indicates context to a call receiving device
A technique provides a phone call from a caller device operated by a human caller to an answerer device operated by a human answerer. The technique involves receiving a call request from the caller device. The call request includes a call button identifier which uniquely identifies a browser call button which is rendered on the caller device to the caller. The technique further involves identifying a source phone number based on the call button identifier. The technique further involves placing a call communication to the answerer device operated by the human answerer. The call communication indicates the source phone number as a source of the call communication. Accordingly, if the answerer device already has the context of associated with the source phone number already saved (e.g., in a contact list), the answerer device is able to automatically display that context in response to the call.
Enhanced mobile calling with call purpose
Techniques for implementing telephone call purpose codes, which are codes included in the data of an attempted telephone call, which purpose code provide information relating to the telephone call's purpose. Also, techniques for handling telephone calls in a machine logic rule based manner in ways that depend, at least in part, upon the purpose code of the attempted telephone call.
A METHOD AND SYSTEM FOR CONFIGURING CALLER LINE IDENTIFICATION FOR SHORT MESSAGE SERVICE
Method to access or manage an operator's voicemail system from a digital assist or smart device
A method, system and apparatus are disclosed. According to some embodiments, an assistant network node configured to communicate with a proxy network node is provided. The assistant network node includes processing circuitry configured to receive, over an internet, a request message associated with a digital assistant device where the request message inquires about a voicemail function of a voicemail system related to a user of a fixed or cellular network, access the voicemail system based at least in part on the request message where the accessing of the voicemail system is performed without establishing a voice channel in the fixed or cellular network, and return a response message to the digital assistant device over the internet based at least in part on the access of the voicemail system in the fixed or cellular network.
Systems and methods for triggering phone calls to mobile phones
An activation device includes a wireless communication interface, an activation circuitry, and a trigger device. The wireless communication interface is configured to communicate with a mobile phone in a personal area network. The activation circuitry is configured to generate a signal for activating the mobile phone. The trigger device is configured to receive an input from a user. When the trigger device receives the input from the user, the activation circuitry is caused to generate the signal, and the wireless communication interface is configured to send the signal to the mobile phone, causing the mobile phone to pass the call request to a call service, which is in turn caused to generate a call, calling the mobile phone.
