Routing Communications By Scanning Visible Codes
Enhancements of and to cell phone operations are based in whole or in part on determining the location of the cell phone. Systems and methods select and determine locations or areas of importance or relevance, and based on that information and other programmed factors affect or alter the operations of the cell phone. While the systems and methods are illustrated by use of cell phone embodiments and applications, they are equally applicable to virtually any portable or mobile communication device, including for example, wireless laptop computers and PDAs.
REMOTE ACCESS CONTROL
A system that allows a user to access a secured area by confirming location of the user near the secured area and receipt of an access word by the system. A user in possession of a mobile device may be detected at the entrance to a secured location. The system can select a question asking for a passcode corresponding to certain access to the secured location. The question can be spoken to a user through a loudspeaker at the secured location. The user's spoken response can be processed by the system, for example using keyword spotting, to determine if the proper access word is included. If it is, the system can grant access to the secured area.
INVISIBLE INTERCOM AND ACCESS SYSTEM AND METHOD
An invisible intercom and access system and method. The invisible intercom and access system may include a visitor device configured to make a phone call to a specific phone number; one or more authorized point of contact (APoC) device configured to receive the phone call and having an input configured to receive a code that produces tones; one or more third party device configured to control access to one or more access point of a property or building; and an invisible intercom and access apparatus configured to receive the phone call from the visitor device and connect the phone call to the one or more APoC device, recognize the tones of the code input at the one or more APoC device, and control or send a control signal to the one or more third party device. The invisible intercom and access method may include receiving via an invisible intercom and access apparatus a phone call from a visitor device using a specific phone number provided to a visitor at one or more access point of a building or property; connecting via the invisible intercom and access apparatus the phone call to one or more APoC device; recognizing via the invisible intercom and access apparatus tones of a code input by the one or more APoC device; and controlling the one or more third party device in response to the recognizing of the tones.
Consumer electronic registration, control and support concierge device and method
We disclose a concierge device that can be configured to register, control and support a consumer device. It can alternatively or redundantly connect to a home management bridge and/or cloud-based management servers. It can accept menus that allow a single concierge device to provide a wide range of functions for various consumer devices. The concierge device allows the user in a single action to initiate a support session, automatically identifying the consumer device. The concierge device can be configured for voice or video support calls. The concierge device in conjunction with a home management bridge or gateway can manage on boarding of components of an automated home, such as switches and lamps. Implementations of the concierge device that include a display can show supplemental information, such as advertising, optionally in coordination with media being played on a consumer device coupled in communication with the concierge device.
Method and system for enabling a communication device to remotely execute an application
A communication system capable of enabling one or more communication devices to remotely execute one or more applications includes one or more communication devices that are coupled to a data connection. At least one of the one or more communication devices is operable to communicate a request to establish a communication session over the data connection. The system also includes one or more application servers that are coupled to the data connection. At least one of the one or more application servers is adapted to execute an application to establish the requested communication session with the at least one communication device. The at least one application server resides at a location remote from the at least one communication device. The at least one application server communicates a request for processing service to the at least one communication device. The request for processing service is communicated to the at least one communication device over the data connection.
Automatically Accessing an Internet Session Using Transferred Network Login Information
VEHICLE REMOTE ASSISTANCE SYSTEM, REMOTE ASSISTANCE APPARATUS, REMOTE ASSISTANCE METHOD, AND REMOTE ASSISTANCE PROGRAM
A vehicle remote assistance system includes a plurality of vehicles and a remote assistance apparatus. Each of the plurality of vehicles includes a calling unit that transmits a call to the remote assistance apparatus. The remote assistance apparatus includes an assigning unit that schedules the calls that are transmitted from the plurality of vehicles and assigning the calls to any of a plurality of operators. The calling unit transmits a cancelation of the call to the remote assistance apparatus when a reason for the call is resolved after the call is made. The assigning unit cancels scheduling of the call that corresponds to the cancelation that is transmitted from the vehicle.
REMOTE WORK SUPPORT SYSTEM
A remote work support system includes a wearable device worn by a site worker, a mobile terminal carried by the site worker separately from the wearable device, and a support operator terminal used by a support operator who remotely supports the site worker. The wearable device includes an image capturing unit, a voice input unit, and a voice output unit. The wearable device transmits an image. The wearable device transmits and receives voice. The mobile terminal includes a display unit to display a received image. The support operator terminal includes a voice input unit, a voice output unit, and a display unit. The support operator terminal transmits and receive voice to and from the wearable device. The support operator terminal receives an image from the wearable device. The support operator terminal transmits an image to the mobile terminal.
Gateway function control via telephony/voice service
An apparatus, method and computer readable memory comprises a voice service interface for allowing user control of a gateway. The voice service interface comprises a voice service module operable to interface with a telephonic communication device to process and receive gateway configuration entries from the user through the telephonic communication device. The voice service module is operable to transmit the gateway configuration entries to a gateway controller. The gateway configuration entries are configured to be parsed and applied to the gateway for control, configuration and/or diagnostic of the gateway. Gateway configuration entries include control function changes such as home gateway device reboot, Wi-Fi, enabling/disabling/configuration, parent control enabling/disabling/configuration, and other intended gateway functionalities.
System for administering test cases from a mobile device for a telecommunications network
The disclosed technology includes at least one method that enables a user of a wireless mobile device to remotely administer test cases that check the performance of telecommunications network nodes. The method includes authenticating a user for a limited time period in which the user can remotely administer the test cases. While being temporarily authenticated, the user can configure the test cases by associating services or operations with particular nodes. The executed test cases cause the nodes to generate data that indicate performance of the nodes in response to the services or operations. The results can be displayed at the mobile device used to remotely administer the test cases.
