Methods of operating a user device in a user device group and related user devices and control servers
A first user device may be included in a user device group including the first user device and a second user device that share a same service identifier for a communication service. The method may include accepting user input at the first user device to activate an operation mode for the first user device. Responsive to accepting the user input to activate the operation mode at the first user device, the operation mode may be activated at the first user device. Responsive to accepting the user input to activate the operation mode at the first user device, a notification regarding activation of the operation mode may be transmitted to a control server that is remote from the first user device. Related user devices and control servers are also discussed.
METHOD FOR CHANGING GROUP TYPE AND GROUP CREATION METHOD AND DEVICE
A method including determining, according to a received type change instruction with respect to a group, a target group type of the group; selecting, according to a limiting condition imposed on group affiliation information of a group member by the target group type, a group member who does not satisfy the limiting condition; and removing the selected group member from the group.
System and method for a multi-channel notification service
A system and method for multichannel notifications that includes configuring an account for notifications within a multitenant platform for multi-channel notifications, which further includes receiving configuration for a set of participant binding resources, wherein the set of participant binding resources comprises endpoint addressing resources, where an endpoint addressing resource specifies a communication address and a communication channel identifier; receiving a notification request on behalf of an account, the notification request comprising at least one targeting property; and executing notifications in accordance to the notification request and the configuration of the participant binding resources of the account by selecting endpoint addressing resources that are accessed from the participant binding resources using the targeting properties of the notification request and transmitting notifications to communication addresses over a set of different communication channels as indicated by the selected endpoint addressing resources.
FLEET LOCATION SHARING APPLICATION IN ASSOCIATION WITH SERVICES PROVISION
A system for exchanging GPS or other position data between wireless devices for purposes of group activities, child location monitoring, work group coordination, dispatching of employees etc. Cell phones and other wireless devices with GPS receivers have loaded therein a Buddy Watch application and a TalkControl application. The Buddy Watch application communicates with the GPS receiver and other wireless devices operated by buddies registered in the users phone as part of buddy groups or individually. GPS position data and historical GPS position data can be exchanged between cell phones of buddies and instant buddies such as tow truck drivers via a buddy watch server. Emergency monitoring services can be set up with notifications to programmable individuals in case an individual does not respond. Positions and tracks can be displayed. TalkControl simplifies and automates the process of joining talk groups for walkie talkie services such as that provided by Nextel.
APPLICATION-BASED TWO-WAY TRACKING AND MAPPING FUNCTION WITH SELECTED INDIVIDUALS
Method and system for optimizing voice recognition and information searching based on talkgroup activities
A method and system for optimizing voice recognition and information searching. The method includes determining context data associated with a particular talkgroup (140) that includes a plurality of communications devices (120) and creating a list of talkgroup-specific keywords associated with the context data, the list of talkgroup-specific keywords including a first characteristic for each talkgroup-specific keyword. The method also includes receiving, from a first communications device (120A) of the plurality of communications devices (120), audio data associated with a user of the first communications device (120A) and processing the audio data to generate an initial output term. The method further includes determining a second characteristic of the initial output term and determining whether the first characteristic of a talkgroup-specific keyword from the list of talkgroup-specific keywords matches the second characteristic of the initial output term. The method also includes outputting the keyword when the first characteristic matches the second characteristic.
Device, system and method for determining a prioritized list of communication groups
A device, system and method for determining a prioritized list of communication groups is provided. A computing device monitors current call statistics of a plurality of communication groups, the communication device assigned to the plurality of communication groups. The computing device, based on a comparison of the current call statistics with historical call statistics of the plurality of communication groups, generates a prioritized list of the plurality of communication groups. The computing device transmits, to the communication device, the prioritized list. The communication device may render the list for selection of a communication group, and/or automatically change to a highest priority communication group of the prioritized list, and/or when bandwidth of a current site is unavailable to communicate on the highest priority communication group, roam to a site with available bandwidth to change to a highest priority communication group in the prioritized list.
Device, system and method for managing channel and/or talkgroup assignments
A device, system and method for managing channel and/or talkgroup assignments is provided. A memory stores: a first list of channels associated with a device identifier of a mobile device; and a second list of channels associated with: a user identifier of a user; and attributes of the user. A controller: receives, via a communications unit, from the mobile device, the user identifier indicating a log-in to the mobile device by the user; selects a subset of the first list of channels, to be temporarily assigned to the mobile device when the user is logged into the mobile device, based on the attributes of the user; and transmits, via the communications unit, to the mobile device, a combined list that includes the subset of the first list of channels, and the second list of channels, to enable the mobile device to communicate using channels in the combined list.
GROUP COMMUNICATION FORWARDING TO A SECONDARY SERVICE
Systems, methods, and software described herein provide enhancements for a voice communication service to forward communications to a secondary service. In one implementation, a method of operating a group communication service that facilitates voice communications for a group of end user devices includes exchanging voice communications between the group of end user devices, wherein the group of end user devices comprises a first end user device and at least one secondary end user device. The method further provides identifying, in a voice communication from the first end user device, a use of a key phrase and, in response to identifying the key phrase, forwarding at least a portion of the voice communication to a second service.
