In some embodiments, a wearable electronic device has a wearable device application that can present an SMS notification from an SMS application of a mobile computing device. The wearable device application can provide SMS notification data to a partner application of the mobile computing device. The partner application can perform a reverse look-up in a contacts application of the mobile computing device and construct a first contacts list with potential SMS-message senders. The wearable device application can present one or more SMS-message actions to a user of the wearable electronic device for a user selection thereof. The partner application can communicate with a partner server, which, in turn, can communicate with an SMS provider to effect the user selection of the one or more SMS-message actions.

The invention is a method, system, and computer-readable medium for gathering and communicating caller identification information on a wireless device. The invention includes receiving, at a wireless device, a calling party phone number to be communicated by the wireless device, determining that the calling party phone number and a corresponding caller identification are not stored on the wireless device memory, performing, in response to the determination that the calling party phone number and the corresponding caller identification are not stored on the wireless device memory, an external database search for the calling party phone number and corresponding caller identification, and determining that the calling party phone number and corresponding caller identification have been identified in the external database search. A system capable of connecting a device to a Public Switched Telephone Network (PSTN) using an adapter. The adapter may receive caller identification from the PSTN during a second ringing signal and may send notifications to remote server(s) indicating the caller identification. The remote server(s) may use the caller identification to enable additional functionality in a speech processing system. For example, the remote server(s) may identify contact information corresponding to the caller identification, may determine information about the contact, such as recent meetings, communications, or the like, and may output the information when announcing the incoming call. In addition, the remote server(s) may compare the caller identification to a database of spam and indicate that the incoming call is possible spam.
