Multiple party call acknowledgement
Disclosed embodiments provide improved communication between a caller and multiple parties. A caller performs a call spray operation on a group of contacts using an electronic communication device such as a mobile telephone. The call spray operation attempts to contact an electronic device associated with each contact in the group of contacts. If one of the contacts answers and is deemed to be a live user, then the remaining contacts that did not answer each receive a message on their associated electronic device indicating which of the contacts answered the caller with a live user. In this way, a group of people can be conveniently contacted and kept up to date with the status of the communication with the caller.
Method and system for scheduling and initiating a conference call or other event
A system for scheduling and initiating a conference call including an application server including: an interface and a parser operably coupled to the interface to extract information from received information. The system may further include a communication server that includes an event database operable to generate an event ID responsive to the received event information and store an event record, and a contact database comprising a plurality of contact records that determines if the plurality of contact records comprises either of the event host or the event participant. The system further includes an interface operable to establish a conference call responsive to the event date and the event time and call each of the event host and the event participant.
Conference participant location and device identification
One embodiment provides a method, including: receiving, in a conferencing application, an indication to contact a conference participant; accessing, using a processor, context data associated with the conference participant, wherein the context data identifies a likely location of the conference participant; identifying, at the likely location, an electronic device associated with the conference participant; and contacting the conference participant via the electronic device. Other aspects are described and claimed.
Method and conference server for initializing scheduled conferences
Conference participants are selected via a network element in a network, the geographical area locations, for example, buildings of an enterprise, of the conference participants are determined and depending on the determined locations a geographical conference area, for example a conference room is determined for each conference participant. The conference area together with the conference information is communicated to the conference participants. The availability of the conference participants can be checked for the communication.
Selecting bridge telephone number for dial-out
A conference system is provided that includes a processor configured to provision a plurality of bridge telephone numbers having a plurality of different country codes, and receive a dial-out request for one of a plurality of attendees of a conference meeting for connecting to the conference meeting. The dial-out request includes a target telephone number associated with a communication device of the one of the plurality of attendees. The processor is further configured to select one of the provisioned plurality of bridge telephone numbers based on a result of a match between at least a country code of the selected bridge telephone number and the target telephone number, and cause dial-out to the target telephone number from the selected bridge telephone number.
Call collision resolution in a communication network
A method is provided for resolving a call collision in a communication network. The method comprises, at a network node of the communication network: receiving a first call request message from a first user device to set up a call from the first user device to a second user device; checking whether the second user device has in turn sent a second call request message to set up a call from the second user device to the first user device; and in the affirmative, routing the first call request message to a conference bridge.
Patient response devices and methods of using the same
Present disclosure relates to a patient response device. Patient response device includes: a processor controlling operations of patient response device, a network interface controller facilitating communication among patient response device, an emergency response system server and a communication system of an emergency response system, an emergency medicine storage, and a non-volatile memory. Emergency medicine storage includes one or more emergency medicine compartments for storing one or more patient specific emergency medicines for patients. Non-volatile memory stores an operating system, a GPS module for detecting GPS location of patient carrying patient response device, and a patient response device controller. Patient response device controller includes: a patient information storage module, a patient communication control module, and computer executable instructions. Patient information storage module stores patient's information. Patient communication control module facilitates communication through the network interface controller to the emergency response system server and the communication system over a communication network.
GROUP COMMUNICATION
In order to facilitate group communication using characteristics of a prearranged group but not involving all members of the pre-arranged group, a parameter indicating that the group communication is not intended to all members of the pre-arranged group is added by an inviting group member sending a request to a group server, and the group server, in response to the parameter, is configured to not to invite all members to the group communication.
