Privacy mode detection and response over voice activated interface

A portable electronic communication device includes a user input receiver, one or more user outputs, and a processor programmed to receive user input from the user input receiver and to determine based on the user input whether the user desires the device to enter a private mode. The device alters communications from the device via the one or more user outputs while in the private mode, and enters the private mode if the user input indicates that the user desires the device to enter the private mode. While in the private mode, the device may alter the manner in which it communicates to the user.

Computer-Implemented System and Method For Encrypting Call Recordings
20170161513 · 2017-06-08 ·

A computer-implemented system and method for encrypting call recordings is provided. Calls are recorded and each call recording is divided into segments. Each segment represents a record. An encryption key unique to each call recording is generated. The unique encryption keys each include seed information from two or more sources and a key counter for one such call recording. For each record, an encryption counter is encrypted using the encryption key for the call recording associated with that record. Also, for each record, the encrypted encryption counter and the data from that record are mixed and encrypted.

System and method for encrypting and recording media for a contact center

A system and method for recording media for a contact center where a processor is configured to determine that media exchanged between first and second communication devices during a telephony call is to be recorded; bridge a media path between the first and second communication devices; cause replicating of the media exchanged in the media path; encrypt the replicated media via a first cryptographic key for storing the encrypted media in a data storage device; and encrypt the first cryptographic key via a second cryptographic key for storing the encrypted first cryptographic key as metadata for the encrypted media.

Call event tagging and call recording stitching for contact center call recordings

A system and method for recording media for a contact center allows for call event tagging and call recording stitching. A processor receives call metadata for a telephony call. The call includes a link to a recording of media exchanged during the telephony call. The processor receives a call event associated with the telephony call. The call event includes a timestamp of when the event occurred during the telephony call. The processor stores the call metadata and the call event in a database record. The processor retrieves the database record for displaying the call event on a display device. A user command is received for identifying the call event in response to the display on the display device. A portion of the recording associated with the call event is retrieved in response to the user command. An audible rendering is then provided of the retrieved portion of the recording.

Computer-implemented system and method for determining call connection status
09560196 · 2017-01-31 · ·

A computer-implemented system and method for determining call connection status is provided. A call initiated by a calling party to a receiving party is monitored. Metadata associated with the receiving party is obtained upon reaching a ring tone of the receiving party. An identity of the receiving party is determined via the metadata. A connection with the receiving party is determined to be secure during the call when the metadata comprises a security certificate. A status of the secure connection is provided to each of the calling party and the receiving party.

Apparatus and method for disclosing privacy conditions between communication devices

An apparatus and a method is provided for detecting a privacy condition in a communication device and disclosing the privacy condition to a second communication device. A privacy condition is detecting in the communication device, wherein the privacy condition is a condition that can affect the privacy of a call. The privacy condition can be the enablement of a speakerphone, the detection of a non-private environment, or the detection of a nearby electronic signal. Thereafter, during an active call, a notice of the privacy condition is sent to the second communication device. A privacy condition can be displayed in response to receiving a privacy condition message from the second communication device.

Coordinating conveying a reason for a call from a user device

In one embodiment, the techniques herein are directed to coordinating conveying a reason for a call from a user device. For instance, an illustrative method herein may comprise: receiving, at an intermediate service device, a message from a user device, the message informative of a second device to participate in a call with a user of the user device and a reason for the call; and conveying, from the intermediate service device, the user device, the user, and the reason for the call to the second device, wherein the second device initiates the call to the user device and is aware of the user and the reason for the call prior to initiating the call.

CALLING LINE IDENTITY SPOOF DETECTION IN THE PRESENCE OF REPEAT CALLS
20260122174 · 2026-04-30 ·

A computer implemented method of processing calls in a telephone network, the method comprising: identifying a plurality of calls that have been made by a particular telephone number to destination telephone numbers in the telephone network; dividing the plurality of calls into N subsets of calls, determining whether a sequence of one of the subsets of calls corresponds to a correct calling order, wherein the correct calling order is determined based on a predetermined rule for ordering destination telephone numbers in the telephone network, that rule having previously been generated based on a secret shared with a party that is authorised to use the particular telephone number; and determining that one or more of the calls were made by spoofing the particular telephone number when that sequence does not correspond to the correct calling order.
