A system and method of associating and transferring financially valuable information recorded against an unregistered mobile phone number with an external identifier comprising the external identifier; an application program; at least one originating communications device having an unregistered mobile phone number assigned thereto; and at least one replacement communications device having a separate mobile phone number assigned thereto, the application program automatically obtains the external identifier and operates to direct at least one third party who holds financially valuable information recorded against at least one of the unregistered mobile phone numbers allocated to the at least one originating communications device to associate such financially valuable information with the external identifier; and where the application program directs the at least one third party to transfer the financially valuable information associated with the unregistered mobile phone number to the separate mobile phone number.

A computing platform enables the reliable delivery of message data (e.g., virtual airtime credits) into the accounts of mobile device users. The computing platform facilitates a large network of integrations (communication channels) with mobile network operators and reseller, preferably via a statistically-based message routing technique that uses a continuously updated estimate of the probability that a particular request over each integration will succeed. Requests are then routed over an integration picked using this information; if the request fails, the attempt is then retried using another integration until either it succeeds or the system believes the request will never succeed. The success or failure of each request is also used to update the probability estimate, preferably continuously, so that the system adjusts automatically as the reliability of each integration changes over time.

In a telecommunication network, a method is carried out for assisting a first user terminal (100.sub.1) in benefiting from a data connectivity. A second user terminal (100.sub.2) indicates (s10), to a connectivity donation server (200), that it is willing to sponsor data connectivity of the first terminal (100.sub.1) and that, restriction(s) are imposed on how the sponsored connectivity can be used. The restriction(s) comprise: i) where the first terminal (100.sub.1) is to be located for benefiting from the sponsored connectivity; and ii) which access network(s) the first terminal (100.sub.1) has to connect to for benefiting from the sponsored connectivity. The connectivity donation server (200) then transmits a token to the second terminal (100.sub.2), which in turn transmits (s30) it to the first terminal (100.sub.1) using proximity-based means. Terminals, network nodes, and computer programs for use in the above method are also disclosed.

A method of establishing a paid connection using a screen mirroring application between multi-platforms, where a transmitting end application is installed in a transmitting end apparatus of a sharing source and a receiving end application is installed in a receiving end apparatus of a sharing target. When establishing a connection, the transmitting end application confirms if an unique ID of the receiving end apparatus exists in an exception list, and if the receiving end application makes payment based on an operating system used by the transmitting end apparatus in order to determine establishing a limited or an unlimited connection between the transmitting end apparatus and the receiving end apparatus. Thus, the method assures that either the transmitting end application or the receiving end application is a paid version, a user complies with an application license agreement by using the exception list and the right of application developers is protected.

Systems and methods to selectively block calls from reaching destinations based on an input received from a callback connection. One embodiment includes a web server to receive a selection of an advertisement from an customer and to obtain a communication reference from the customer in response to the selection; a session border controller to interface with a packet switched network; and one or more telecommunication servers coupled to the session border controller and the web server, the one or more telecommunication servers to establish a connection for real time communications using the communication reference, to initiate a connection for real time communications with an advertiser of the advertisement after receiving an indication of acceptance of the connection established using the communication reference; where the advertiser is charged an advertisement fee in response to establishing a connection for real time communications between the advertiser and the customer.

Systems and methods are provided to facilitate donations via mobile communications. In one aspect, a system includes a data storage facility and an interchange having a common format processor and a plurality of converters to interface with a plurality of different controllers of mobile communications. The converters are configured to communicate with the controllers in different formats and with the common format processor in a common format. For a payment to a merchant, the common format processor provides a user interface configured to present charity donation options in response to a phone number being specified in the user interface to identify a fund source. The common format processor uses one of the converters to communicate with a mobile phone at the phone number to confirm the payment to the merchant and a donation to a separate charity organization specified via the user interface.

Methods and apparatuses are provided for signal transmission and reception between a user equipment, a base station, and a server in a mobile communication system. The user equipment obtains control information related to traffic associated with the user equipment. The user equipment transmits a user plane message created based on the control information, to the server, via the base station.

A technique for operating a mobile station as wireless local-area network [“WLAN” ]gateway. The mobile station is provided with a gateway application to control the following operations: activating (3-0) the WLAN means as a WLAN base station capable of communicating with at least one WLAN terminal over a WLAN network; creating a network identifier (3-2, 3-4) for the WLAN base station; assigning (3-8, 3-10) an internet protocol address for the at least one WLAN terminal; resolving domain name service [“DNS” ] queries (3-12 . . . 3-18) in cooperation with an external DNS service system; assigning at least one port number for each protocol supported by the gateway application; and tunneling internet traffic (3-30 . . . 3-36) between the at least one WLAN terminal and an internet host over the broadband connection.

A technique for operating a mobile station as wireless local-area network [“WLAN”] gateway. A system of wireless advertising platform has a handheld wireless device that has an inbound wireless data function with a storage function to be able to receive and store, audio, text, image, and flash commercial messages from a message server. The device has a message exposure function that exposes these messages to a device user from the stored memory of the device into the incoming and outgoing communication, to and from the device user. The device has a message tracking function that tracks which messages have been exposed and periodically sends an account record to the message server. The message server has a message provider interface for planning and managing an advertising campaign using the wireless devices.
