Methods and apparatus for media data usage measurement and reporting are disclosed. For example, an example television disclosed herein includes a processor to execute computer readable instructions including monitoring software to at least collect metadata from a media stream, execute a media data usage gathering object to gather and encapsulate usage data associated with presentation of the media stream by the television, the usage data including the metadata, report the usage data to a remote system via a network in communication with the television, and insert an advertisement in the media stream, the advertisement selected based on the reported usage data.

A method includes: receiving, by a network data analytics function entity, a first message that is sent by an application function entity and that includes a measurement event and an identity ID of an application; obtaining a first measurement parameter based on the measurement event; receiving, by the network data analytics function entity, a notification message that is sent by a terminal and that is used to indicate the network data analytics function entity to perform data collection on the application; sending a second message including the ID of the application and the first measurement parameter to a policy control function entity, and requesting the policy control function entity to send the second measurement parameter to the terminal.

A method for location-dependent billing for a services that are available to a mobile terminal, a local communication connection is set up to a fixably installed external location tag with a corresponding wireless interface between the fixably installed tag and the mobile terminal, the method including the steps of accessing the external location tag and transmitting a billing rate code from the external location tag to the mobile terminal, forwarding the billing rate code from the mobile terminal to a central unit of a mobile communication network, in which the mobile terminal is logged, determining a geographic location identification of the external location tag by evaluation of the billing rate code at the central unit, and selecting a billing rate for billing for the service available to the user based on the billing rate code at the central unit.

An improved handheld electronic device and an associated method provide an improved call log that presents information relating to logged phone calls in a collapsed manner, meaning that for each phone number having a call stored in the memory of the device, only the most recent in time call is listed on the call log. An improved handheld electronic device and an associated method also provide a call history for any phone call from the improved call log that is selected by the user. The call history includes a listing of all of the calls stored by the device that are associated with the selected call log call.

Techniques are described herein for network sliced based billing. In one example, a control center obtains, from a charging system, a charging data record that includes an indication of a network slice associated with a chargeable telecommunications event. Based on the indication of the network slice, the control center identifies a charging rate for the chargeable telecommunications event and applies the charging rate to the chargeable telecommunications event.

An improved handheld electronic device and an associated method provide an improved call log that presents information relating to logged phone calls in a collapsed manner, meaning that for each phone number having a call stored in the memory of the device, only the most recent in time call is listed on the call log. An improved handheld electronic device and an associated method also provide a call history for any phone call from the improved call log that is selected by the user. This patent application provides a multi-connectivity data reporting method, including: obtaining, by a first network device, a first data volume report, where the first data volume report is used to indicate a volume of data that are of a terminal device and that pass through a second network device; and sending, by the first network device, the first data volume report to a third network device. The first data volume report includes one or more of QoS flow identifiers (QFIs) of one or more quality of service QoS flows, identifiers of one or more protocol data unit (PDU) sessions to which the one or more QoS flows belong, or data volumes of the one or more QoS flows.

Methods and apparatus for gathering data for media usage reports for a processing device is disclosed. An example apparatus includes means for gathering first usage data representative of usage of first media on a processing device, the first media being received from an external network source, the first usage data corresponding to at least one of (i) a first media type or (ii) a first user agent associated with the media; means for gathering second usage data representative of usage of second media on the processing device, the second media being received from a source that is local to the processing device, the second usage data corresponding to at least one of (i) a second media type or (ii) a second user agent associated with the media; and means for merging the first usage data and the second usage data into a respective user session to generate session data.

A system for creating and managing Sponsored Data Plans in a geographic area spanning across multiple mobile telecommunications networks includes a UDSS Portal to receive Sponsorship campaign parameters, and a UDSS Application Server to accept and propagate resulting policies and configurations to a relevant network operators' OCS and Sponsorship Application Server components based on the campaign targeted geographic areas received by the UDSS Application Server from the UDSS Portal. The system may include a UDSS Proxy Server to implement a mechanism to perform protocol and data integrity checks; and look up any active cached matching campaign parameters. The Sponsorship Application Server inside the operator's network may determine the operator's subscriber eligibility to the sponsored content. The system may include a UE to send a request for a sponsored content and an operator's PCEF to receive and forward the request to the Sponsorship Application Server for determination of sponsorship eligibility.

A system is provided enabling creation of a portal to telecommunications services managed by an enterprise user on behalf of accountholders of the enterprise. The system includes a first layer providing access to at least a business support system, an operational support system, a provisioning system, a home location register, and a billing system. The system also includes a second layer providing access to a wizard interface programmed for: creating a portal by the enterprise user with an application enabled to selectively access and/or modify data and settings accessible through a security layer from the first layer; and publishing the portal. The system also includes a third layer providing access to the portal by an accountholder of the enterprise after publishing. The application is: a glanceable application showing the data or settings in a summary visual fashion; or a full application showing the data or settings in a detailed fashion.
