Methods and apparatus for gathering data for media usage reports for a processing device is disclosed. An example apparatus includes means for gathering first usage data representative of usage of first media on a processing device, the first media being received from an external network source, the first usage data corresponding to at least one of (i) a first media type or (ii) a first user agent associated with the media; means for gathering second usage data representative of usage of second media on the processing device, the second media being received from a source that is local to the processing device, the second usage data corresponding to at least one of (i) a second media type or (ii) a second user agent associated with the media; and means for merging the first usage data and the second usage data into a respective user session to generate session data.

In a communication system having a number of base stations and user devices, a sending user device comprising a processor and a memory is configured to generate a packet or other communication for forwarding to a receiving user device via one or more intermediary user devices of the system. The forwarding path of the communication may involve one or more of the base stations. A payment token is associated with the communication, such that at least one of the intermediary user devices can generate a payment claim based on the payment token. The payment token is independent of the particular identities of the one or more intermediary user devices of the system.

A system for creating and managing Sponsored Data Plans in a geographic area spanning across multiple mobile telecommunications networks includes a UDSS Portal to receive Sponsorship campaign parameters, and a UDSS Application Server to accept and propagate resulting policies and configurations to a relevant network operators' OCS and Sponsorship Application Server components based on the campaign targeted geographic areas received by the UDSS Application Server from the UDSS Portal. The system may include a UDSS Proxy Server to implement a mechanism to perform protocol and data integrity checks; and look up any active cached matching campaign parameters. The Sponsorship Application Server inside the operator's network may determine the operator's subscriber eligibility to the sponsored content. The system may include a UE to send a request for a sponsored content and an operator's PCEF to receive and forward the request to the Sponsorship Application Server for determination of sponsorship eligibility.

A mobile communication device including a wireless transceiver and a controller is provided. The wireless transceiver performs wireless transmission and reception to and from an advanced network and a legacy network. The controller receives a message from the advanced network via the wireless transceiver for redirecting the mobile communication device from the advanced network to the legacy network in response to a request for a call, searches for a suitable cell in the legacy network via the wireless transceiver in response to receiving the message, and camps on the suitable cell for making the call via the wireless transceiver regardless of the suitable cell being of a low priority and whether there is another suitable cell of a normal priority or not.

A transaction processing platform capable of facilitating the distribution to consumers of various types of prepaid products is disclosed. The transaction processing platform is configured to interface with one or more providers of such prepaid products in order to facilitate the procurement or activation of the products. The platform includes a conduit interface through which service request messages are received and respectively utilized to generate transaction requests for corresponding types of prepaid services. A supply interface arrangement, operatively coupled to the conduit interface, is configured to route a first of the transaction requests through a first supply interface associated with a first type of prepaid service. The supply interface arrangement also routes a second transaction request through a second supply interface associated with a second type of prepaid service. The platform is also configured to provide supplier response information received through the supply interfaces to the conduit interface.

A tangible computer readable storage disk or device comprising instructions which, when executed, cause a machine to merge usage data to generate session data is disclosed. An example computer readable storage disk or device includes instructions to gather first usage data representative of usage of first media on the machine, the first media being received from an external network source, the first usage data corresponding to at least one of (i) a first media type or (ii) a first user agent associated with the media; gather second usage data representative of usage of second media on the machine, the second media being received from a source that is local to the machine, the second usage data corresponding to at least one of (i) a second media type or (ii) a second user agent associated with the media; and merge the first usage data and the second usage data into a respective user session to generate session data.

Systems and apparatus, and methods relating thereto, can be implemented to include base station having a transceiver adapted to establish a radio-frequency link with a mobile telephone; a first interface, separate from said transceiver, that is adapted for communication over the public Internet; and a controller. The controller can be adapted to obtain from a server accessed via the public Internet, gateway address information for a remote gateway that provides an interface between the public Internet and a network of a telephone service provider and route data from the mobile telephone, over the public Internet, to the remote gateway.

A method of managing traffic associated with a User Equipment, UE, by a User Plane Function, UPF, in a telecommunication network, said UPF being associated with a Session Management Function, SMF, and a Network Data Analytics Function, NWDAF, wherein said UPF has access to an observation space comprising a list of possible states said network may take and wherein said UPF has access to an action space comprising a list of possible actions that said UPF is allowed to perform, said method comprising the steps of receiving a state of said network, wherein said state is comprised by said list of possible states, receiving a reward, wherein said reward indicates a degree of satisfaction of said network to be in said state, receiving network traffic from said UE and performing, triggered by said received traffic, an action comprised by said list of possible actions based on said received state of said network and based on said received reward.

Systems and apparatus, and methods relating thereto, can be implemented to include base station having a transceiver adapted to establish a radio-frequency link with a mobile telephone; a first interface, separate from said transceiver, that is adapted for communication over the public Internet; and a controller. The controller can be adapted to obtain from a server accessed via the public Internet, gateway address information for a remote gateway that provides an interface between the public Internet and a network of a telephone service provider and route data from the mobile telephone, over the public Internet, to the remote gateway.

A multiple wireless network service system allows a given Internet data service, according to a service policy, to be accessed by each of a plurality of wireless end-user devices from either of two wireless provider access networks. Proxy servers provide the data service according to the policy, as supplied by a service controller. The service controller facilitates the configuration of elements in the access networks to allow the devices to connect through either access network to the proxy servers. A service processor on each of the devices communicates data traffic for the data service with the proxy servers.
