Image processing method
A technology that enables accurate position specification on an image displayed on a screen to perform processing and correction of the image data is provided. When the image is printed on a sheet on which a dot pattern is printed, a reference point of the image on the display device is set and the reference point is printed in a visible mark together with the image. This mark is imaged with an imaging means, and calibration is performed in which position coordinates of the marks on the sheet and the reference points of the image are matched, thereby preventing variation in coordinates between designation made on the sheet with the imaging means and processing on the image.
TERMINAL DEVICE AND INFORMATION OUTPUT METHOD
A terminal device includes a detection unit that detects sound, and an output unit that outputs information regarding a position of the detection unit relative to a target apparatus which is a target to detect the sound by the detection unit.
Encoded Error Frequency as Printing Device Status
Systems and methods for identifying the health status of one or more printing devices are provided. An example method can involve determining one or more printing-device error parameters. The method may also involve determining one or more error intervals based on the one or more printing-device error parameters. The method may also involve generating an error frequency code based on the determined error intervals. Still further, the method may involve determining a health value based on the error frequency code. The method yet further includes performing a managing action based on the determined health value.
Identifying Problematic Printers by Applying Markov Chain Model
Systems and methods for identifying problematic printers are provided. An example method can involve determining a time interval for a printing device. The method may also involve determining a number of pages printed by the printing device during the time interval. The method may also involve determining a number of printing-device errors that occur on the printing device during the time interval. Still further, the method may involve determining one or more coefficients of a Markov chain based on the number of pages printed by the printing device during the time interval and the number of printing-device errors that occur on the printing device during the time interval. The method yet further includes, based on the determined coefficients of the Markov chain, determining an operational status of the printing device.
INFORMATION PRESENTATION SYSTEM AND INFORMATION PRESENTATION METHOD
An information presentation method includes an apparatus information acquisition step to acquire as apparatus information a detection result of detecting a state of an image forming apparatus by a detection part, an input step to let a user of the image forming apparatus input a content to search for about the image forming apparatus as search input information by an input part, a presentation order determination step to read more than one of multiple answers stored in a server device on a symptom that occurred in the image forming apparatus based on the search input information and the apparatus information, the read answers being to be presented to the user, and to determine a presentation order of the answers, and a presentation step to present, by a presentation part, the answers to the user in the presentation order.
DETECTION OF PROCESS ABNORMALITIES IN A MEDIA PROCESSING SYSTEM
Sheet media jams are detected along a media transport path by one or more vibration sensors that capture mechanical movements of components along the path that interact with the sheet media for driving or guiding the sheet media along the transport path. The detected vibrations during the advancing of the sheets are analyzed for distinguishing between detected vibrations associated with normal handling of the sheets and detected vibrations associated with abnormal handling of the sheets. An error condition can be signaled to a control system in response to distinguishing the detected vibrations associated with the abnormal handling of the sheets.

METHOD OF MEASURING DISPLAY DELAY OF CAMERA AND DISPLAY DELAY MEASUREMENT APPARATUS
A method of measuring a display delay includes a first step where a first display device performs a switching operation of switching a display pattern displayed on a display unit of the first display device, a second step where a first camera captures a first image and displays the first image in a live view mode, a third step where a second camera captures a second image containing the first image and records at least the first image contained in the captured second image while being correlated with information indicative of an imaging time when the second image is captured, and a fourth step where a display delay time of the first camera from the imaging of the first image to the display of the first image is deduced from the time indicated by the display pattern contained in the first image and the information indicative of the imaging time.
IMAGE FORMING APPARATUS
An image forming apparatus has a power-saving mode in which the image forming apparatus is switched from a normal power consumption state to a low power consumption state where less energy is supplied than in the normal power consumption state. This image forming apparatus includes a detection unit configured to detect an operating state of the image forming apparatus, and a memory unit configured to store a detection result by the detection unit. In the power-saving mode, the detection unit detects an operating state of the image forming apparatus, and the memory unit stores a detection result by the detection unit. When the image forming apparatus returns from the low power consumption state in the power-saving mode to the normal power consumption state, control of a return operation for the image forming apparatus from the power-saving mode is executed, based on the detection result by the detection unit stored in the memory unit.
Relaying Apparatus Communicating with Information Processing Terminal, Image Processing Apparatus, and Service-Providing Apparatus
In a relaying apparatus, a storage stores a plurality of sets of first device information, and second device information assigned to a first set of first device information identifying one image processing apparatus from among image processing apparatuses. The controller communicates with the one image processing apparatus and a service-providing apparatus. The controller receives replacement request information from the one information processing terminal via the communication interface. The replacement request information including old first device information and new first device information. The old first device information indicates the one image processing apparatus. The new first device information indicates another image processing apparatus. The controller replaces the first set of first device information so that the first set of first device information identifies the another image processing apparatus indicated by the new first device information instead of the one image processing apparatus indicated by the old first device information.
