An image inspection device includes a reading device and a processor. The reading device is configured to read a chart image on a recording medium to generate a first read image. The reading device is configured to read an image to be inspected on a recording medium to generate a second read image. The processor is configured to calculate a plurality of types of correction parameters on basis of the first read image and image data of the chart image, correct the image data with the plurality of types of correction parameters to generate a reference image, and compare the reference image and the second read image to inspect the second read image.

An image forming apparatus forms an image on a print medium, and the image forming apparatus includes: a storage that stores medium information including profile information corresponding to the print medium and attribute information of the print medium; and a medium detection sensor that detects attribute actual information of the print medium; wherein the medium information is configured such that the profile information corresponding to the print medium is associated with the attribute information of the print medium, and the attribute information or the print medium includes information detectable by the medium detection sensor.

A hardware processor in a system including the image forming apparatus, causes the at least one reflection-type optical sensor to take measurements of a sheet in the sheet path by using different optical densities of the backing face, and calculates paper weight, which is weight of paper per unit area, of the sheet on the basis of the result of the measurements.

An image processing system includes a reader that reads an image surface of a flat cut sheet on which an image is formed; and a laminator that is arranged on the downstream side of the reader in a conveyance direction of the flat cut sheet and laminates an image surface of the flat cut sheet.

An image-forming unit forms a referential image on a first sheet. A reading unit reads the referential image on the first sheet to generate referential read image data. A calibration unit calibrates input image data using calibration parameters derived based on the referential read image data. The image-forming unit forms a target image on a second sheet based on the calibrated data. The reading unit reads the target image on the second sheet to generate read image data for inspection. According to an embodiment, an image forming apparatus stores in a storage device an original identification image included in the original image. The image forming apparatus scans a determination target image and detects a determination target identification image of the determination target image. The image forming apparatus compares the stored original identification image with the determination target identification image and determines whether or not the determination target identification image is the original image.

A paper type identification apparatus includes a passage configured to allow a sheet to be manually inserted thereinto, a reading sensor configured to read a surface of the sheet inserted into the passage and a controller configured to output a notification after reading a first surface of the sheet by the reading sensor. The notification is a notification to urge a user to read a second surface opposite to the first surface of the sheet by the reading sensor, and determine a type of the sheet based on a reading result of the first surface by the reading sensor and a reading result of the second surface by the reading sensor.

An information processing apparatus includes a receiver and a controller. The receiver receives an image. The controller controls a state in a real space based on information included in the received image. In a further modification of the invention, the controller may move a position of the information processing apparatus according to an arrangement of the information processing apparatus in the image.

An image forming device includes: an image forming unit that forms an image on a transfer medium in accordance with a JOB; and a controller that controls the image forming unit. The controller is capable of acquiring a read image obtained by reading the image on the transfer medium, and determining failure/no-failure in the image on the transfer medium in accordance with the read image. When the image is determined to have a failure in accordance with the determination, the controller saves, for each JOB, original image information related to at least a failure-detected page in which the failure has been detected in a state in which the original image information is associated with output history information, and makes at least the failure-detected page re-printable in accordance with the associated original image information.
