The processing circuitry is configured to execute data processing for executing the processing operation in accordance with the operation, perform determination on whether a state of the data processing apparatus is suitable for continuing the data processing, and output determination result information to the external device in accordance with the determination and the operation. The determination result information includes information on content of the determination.

A shared terminal includes: circuitry to control a display to display an image to a plurality of users, the plurality of users sharing a use of the shared terminal, and obtain, from a first privately-owned terminal owned by a first user of the plurality of users, first terminal identification information for identifying the first privately-owned terminal; a transmitter to transmit, to a terminal management server, an authentication request for authenticating the first privately-owned terminal to allow login of the first user into the shared terminal, the authentication request including the first terminal identification information of the first privately-owned terminal; and a receiver to receive an authentication result indicating whether the first privately-owned terminal is authenticated to allow login of the first user, from the terminal management server. A system and method for ascertaining and printing supplemental forms identified from content of a scanned form includes a multifunction peripheral having an intelligent controller with a processor, memory, a network interface. The MFP includes a print engine and a scan engine operable from instructions issued by the controller. The scanner generates an electronic form document from a scan of tangible form document comprised of user supplied information in a user fillable form. The electronic form document includes content data associated with at least one, preexisting supplemental form that related to the electronic form. A generated electronic document is sent to a server via a network interface, which network interface then receives a supplemental electronic form identified by the server in accordance with the content data. The controller generates a printout of the supplemental electronic form via the print engine.

An information processing system includes a first information processing apparatus and a second information processing apparatus that use setting information. An image processing apparatus and a method of controlling the image processing apparatus are provided. The image processing apparatus sets whether or not a function provided in the image processing apparatus requires user authentication, and upon issuance of an instruction to activate an application, determines whether or not a function used by the application is set to require the user authentication. If it is determined that the function used by the application is set to require the user authentication, the image processing apparatus permits the application to use the function in a case that the user authentication has succeeded.
