An MFP communicates with a DNS server through a network. This MFP includes an operation unit that sets whether a printing service is activated or not and a controller unit that registers search information in which capability information provided for a client terminal and information relating to name resolution are associated with each other in the DNS server in accordance with activation of the printing service being set by this operation unit.

In general, a printing system of an exemplary embodiment includes a client terminal connected via a network, and a plurality of image forming apparatuses each including an operating unit which receives an operation input of a user. A first image forming apparatus that receives a print file from the client terminal transmits metadata of the print file to a second image forming apparatus. The second image forming apparatus displays a list of print files which are on standby for printing based on the metadata, and obtains a print file from the first image forming apparatus when a print instruction and a selection of a desired print file from the list of print files are received through the operating unit, and performs printing based the print file.

A communication device includes a first holding unit which holds a disk-like first recording medium capable of storing information and a second holding unit which holds a second recording medium which is different from the first recording medium. The communication device further includes a request reception unit configured to receive a request for information indicating a recording medium which is usable by the communication device from a terminal device, and a transmission unit configured to transmit information indicating the first recording medium and information indicating the second recording medium held by the second holding unit to the terminal device when the request is received.

Remote deposit of checks can be facilitated by a financial institution. A customer's general purpose computer and image capture device may be leveraged to capture an image of a check and deliver the image to financial institution electronics. Additional data for the transaction may be collected as necessary. The transaction can be automatically accomplished utilizing the images and data thus acquired.

Embodiments described herein may allow for dynamic image processing based on biometric data. An example device may include: an interface configured to receive video data that is generated by an image capture device; an interface configured to receive biometric data of a user of the image capture device from one or more sensors generated synchronously with the video data; and an image processing system configured to apply image processing to the video data to generate edited video data. The image processing may be based, at least in part, on the biometric data.

A printing device has a print unit for printing on roll paper; a wireless communication unit for communicating wirelessly with a paired control device; and a controller for receiving print data by wireless communication from the control device, and controlling the print unit based on the received print data. When changing from a pairing-disabled mode to a pairing-enabled mode, the controller controls the print unit to print pairing-related information on roll paper, does not process pairing in the pairing-disabled mode, and processes pairing when a pairing request is received in the pairing-enabled mode.

An image processing apparatus includes an event acquisition unit that acquires a pen event based on an operation on a screen; a drawing-click determining unit that determines whether the pen event is an event concerning a stroke of a dot image or concerning a click operation; and a countdown timer that starts clocking when the drawing-click determining unit receives a determination-target pen event to determine, wherein the drawing-click determining unit determines that the determination-target pen event is an event concerning a stroke of a dot image when the clocking has ended and the event acquisition unit has acquired a pen event concerning another stroke, or when an elapsed time from an end of a pen event concerning another stroke acquired prior to the determination-target pen event is within a certain period of time.

An image processing apparatus, including a display, a memory, and a controller, to provide a plurality of functions is provided. The controller controls the display to display one of a first screen, through which one of the plurality of functions is selectable; a second screen, through which one of a plurality of options for the selected function is selectable; and a third screen, through which selection of the one of the plurality of options is indicated. When the controller reads shortcut information that indicates a first option for a selected one of the functions, and when the first option is permitted to the user, the third screen is displayed. When the first option is not permitted to the user, and if there is a second option permitted to the user, the second screen is displayed.

An image forming apparatus includes a receiving unit which receives jobs, an image forming unit which forms an image on a sheet, a storage unit, and a controller. Each of the jobs is a first type job or a second type job. The first type job includes recipient-specific information that specifies a recipient of a sheet on which an image related to the first type job is formed, and the second type job does not include the recipient-specific information. In a case that a job is received by the receiving unit while not executing any job, the controller controls the image forming unit to form an image related to the job on a sheet. In a case that another job is received by the receiving unit while executing the job, the controller stores the another job in the storage unit.

An information processing apparatus that communicates with a terminal includes a reception unit configured to receive from the terminal an execution instruction to execute a job using a function of the information processing apparatus, wherein the execution instruction at least includes setting information regarding the job, and a transmission unit configured to, in a case where the reception unit receives the execution instruction to execute the job and a predetermined screen is displayed on a display unit of the information processing apparatus, transmit information for the terminal to display the screen to the terminal having transmitted the execution instruction.
