SYSTEM FOR APPLYING A MARK TO AN OBJECT IN AN OBJECT HOLDER OF A DIRECT-TO-OBJECT PRINTER
What is disclosed is system which facilitates the application of a mark to a surface of an object in a direct-to-object print system and a direct-to-object print system configured to use various embodiments of the present marking system. The present marking system comprises a camera for capturing an image of an object retained by an object holder configured to slideably traverse a support member positioned to be parallel to a plane formed by at least one printhead configured to eject in onto a surface of the object. A processor receives an image of an object held and communicates the image to a display. A mark to be printed on the object is retrieved and overlaid on the object in the image. A location of the overlaid mark is determined and communicated to a controller which causes the printhead to print the mark on the object at the location.
IMAGE PROCESSING APPARATUS, METHOD OF CONTROLLING THE SAME, AND STORAGE MEDIUM
An image processing apparatus extracts, from color image data, an object having a first density and an object having a second density being higher than the first density, and determines whether or not sizes of the objects each having the first density and the second density are greater than a predetermined size. When converting the color image data into monochromatic image data, an object having the first density and a size less than or equal to the predetermined size is converted to have a higher density than an object having the first density and a size greater than the predetermined size, and an object having the second density and a size less than or equal to the predetermined size is converted to have the same density as an object having the second density and a size greater than the predetermined size.
MULTIFUNCTION PERIPHERAL, MULTIFUNCTION PERIPHERAL SYSTEM AND CONTROL METHOD OF MULTIFUNCTION PERIPHERAL SYSTEM
A multifunction peripheral system includes a server and a multifunction peripheral. The server is configured to access printing information from a first electronic device, and is further configured to generate printing verification information corresponding to the printing information. The multifunction peripheral has a communication connection with the server. The multifunction peripheral is configured to access a detectable identifier, which comprises information to be verified, from a second electronic device, and the multifunction peripheral further configured to ask the server the printing information according to the detectable identifier. When the information to be verified is identical to the printing verification information, the server provides the printing information to the multifunction peripheral.
SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR METALLIC OBJECT DETECTION IN A MEDIA TRANSPORT SYSTEM
Systems and methods for detecting the presence of metallic objects in media to be conveyed in a medium transport system are disclosed. One or more induction sensors are included in the medium transport system to detect the presence of metal in the transported media, with detection signals sent from the sensors to a system processing unit. An ultrasonic detector is employed in some embodiments to output another detection signal. One or more microphones may also be included, for detecting the sound created as the medium is being transported. The system processing unit analyzes various detection signals and analyzes computed sound values from the microphones, to determine the presence and location of metal in the media. A position jam detector may assist in determining jams of the media along the medium transport path.
SCANNER CAPABLE OF READING DOUBLE SIDES OF SHEET ONCE
Generally, a scanner of the present embodiment, which reads a first surface with a first reading section configured to read the first surface of a sheet and a second surface with a second reading section configured to read the second surface opposite to the first surface of the sheet, executes individual processing on a first reading image of the first surface and a second reading image of the second surface.
IMAGE INSPECTION APPARATUS AND IMAGE FORMING SYSTEM
An image inspection apparatus includes: a storage that stores output image data used in forming an image on a paper sheet; a conveyor that conveys the paper sheet; a reader that reads the image during conveyance, and generates read image data; a determiner that compares pixels in the read image data with corresponding pixels in the output image data, and determines whether the read image data matches the output image data; a circulator that circulates the paper sheet, and returns the paper sheet to the reader; and a controller that controls the circulator to circulate the paper sheet and return the paper sheet to the reader when a mismatch is detected by the determiner, wherein the reader generates circulated read image data when the paper sheet is circulated and conveyed, and the determiner determines whether the image is normal or abnormal depending on the result of comparison.
System and method for metallic object detection in a media transport system
A system and method of detecting the presence of metallic objects in media to be conveyed in a medium transport system is disclosed. One or more metal detectors are included in the medium transport system to detect the presence of metal in the medium being transported. Signals from the metal detectors are sent to a system processor, which analyzes the signals, and produces proximity, duration, and/or intensity values therefrom. One or more microphones may also be included which detect the sound created as the medium is being transported. The processor computes sound values from the microphone signals, and analyzes the computed sound values along with the proximity, duration, and/or intensity values in order determine if the conveyance of the medium along the transport path should be stopped due to the presence of metal in the media or a jam occurring within the medium transport path.
System Method and Apparatus for Anti Counterfeiting Serialization
An anti-counterfeiting serialization method. The method can include receiving an input serial number, locating a seed character at a predetermined position in the input serial number, determining, based on the seed character, a first output position for an incrementing character of the input serial number, determining, based on the incrementing character, at least one second output position for at least one remaining character of the input serial number, and generating an output serial number having the incrementing character in the first output position and at least one remaining character in the at least one second output position.
