The user characteristics information registration unit registers, for each of plural users, user characteristics information, which is information indicating characteristics of the user. The waiting information producing unit produces waiting information, which is information useful for a determination, by an operating user, who is using an image forming apparatus, as to whether or not to wait for an instructing user, who has issued a printing instruction to the image forming apparatus, to visit the image forming apparatus, based on the user characteristics information of the instructing user. The notification control unit controls a notification to be transmitted to the operating user in a case where a notification condition including a condition that both the operating user and the instructing user exist is satisfied, information including information indicating that the instructing user exists and the waiting information.

A display device is connected to the exterior of a document processing device. The display device includes a screen positioned to display in a first direction away from the exterior. Lights are connected to the display device. The lights are positioned to emit light in second direction toward the exterior of the document processing device. A processor is operatively connected to the display device and the lights. The processor is adapted to control the lights to emit corresponding lighting of a graphic item appearing on the screen.

A processor automatically determines the machine/job state of a document processing apparatus. The job/status data is automatically displayed on a first display portion of a multi-part screen of the document processing apparatus. A graphic item that is indicative of the machine/job state is only displayed on a second display portion of the multi-part screen of the document processing apparatus. The graphic item indicates the machine/job state of the document processing apparatus using facial expressions, engineering and/or math icons, etc.

A management system includes an electronic device, a plurality of image pickup devices, a storage unit, and a server. A first control unit in the server detects an image portion indicating a face of a person in a captured image, collates the detected image portion to face images stored in the storage unit, and specifies, as a person inside a building, a person whose face image is identical to the image portion. When an error is detected in the electronic device, a second control unit in the electronic device specifies, among persons specified by the first control unit, a person whom error handling capability information stored in the storage section indicated as capable of handling the error, obtains, among the captured images captured by the plurality of the image pickup devices, a captured image showing the specified person, and allows a display to display the obtained captured image.

According to one embodiment, an information processing apparatus includes a first display control unit and a second display control unit. The first display control unit displays a visual representation in a screen for setting a first SIP server and a second SIP server connected to an IP-FAX terminal on a display unit. The second display control unit displays a first connection state between the IP-FAX terminal and the first SIP server and a second connection state between the IP-FAX terminal and the second SIP server on the display unit, based on completion operation of setting of the first SIP server and setting of the second SIP server by a user.

A printing apparatus includes a printer configured to print a character on a printing medium, a display including multiple individual display areas arranged in a particular order, and a controller. The controller is configured to display one of a character image and an icon on each of the multiple individual display areas, the character image being an image indicating the character, the icon corresponding to a control code indicating a process related to a print control of the character, and control printing performed by the printer based on a target code and a target character, the target code being a control code corresponding to the icons displayed in the individual display areas, the target characters being characters indicated by the character images displayed in the individual display areas.

According to one embodiment, an information processing apparatus includes a first display control unit and a second display control unit. The first display control unit displays a visual representation in a screen for setting a first SIP server and a second SIP server connected to an IP-FAX terminal on a display unit. The second display control unit displays a first connection state between the IP-FAX terminal and the first SIP server and a second connection state between the IP-FAX terminal and the second SIP server on the display unit, based on completion operation of setting of the first SIP server and setting of the second SIP server by a user.

A document feeder includes a document placing tray on which a document is placed; a document discharging tray on which a document discharged from a document discharging port in a discharging direction is stacked; and a light source that radiates light to the document discharging tray. The document discharging tray is disposed below the document placing tray. The document discharging tray has a protruding portion protruding upward from the surrounding area. An apparatus and a method are provided. The method includes measuring, by a mobile terminal, a signal strength of advertising packets broadcast by an image forming apparatus, determining whether the measured signal strength decreases for at least a preset period of time, and, when the signal strength decreases for at least the preset period of time, transmitting a logout request to the image forming apparatus.

The display control unit prevents the setting screen from being displayed while the setting for transmitting the issuance request at the time specified by the user is in an enable state.
