A display device usable with an image forming apparatus includes a liquid crystal unit including a liquid crystal screen and a frame supporting the liquid crystal screen; a supporting member of metal supporting the liquid crystal unit; and an insulative spacer providing a space between the frame and the supporting member at a position of the frame corresponding to an outside area of a display area of the liquid crystal screen.

An image forming apparatus includes an operation portion disposed at a front side with respect to an image reading apparatus main body in a front-rear direction of the image forming apparatus, with the operation portion being positioned above the discharge tray in the vertical direction, and with the operation portion being capable of tilting. The operation portion includes a near field communication portion configured to communicate with a telecommunication device by near field communication, a touch panel configured to receive an instruction from a user via a touch operation, and a cover portion configured to cover the near field communication portion, the cover portion being provided with a mark as a target over which the telecommunication device is to be held to communicate by the near field communication.

A detection device includes an optical detector and a controller. The optical detector includes a protrusion including light-emitting portions and light-receiving portions, and detects a position of an object of interest to be detected by receiving, with use of one or more of the light-receiving portions, reflected light that occurs when light emitted from one or more of the light-emitting portions is reflected by the object of interest to be detected. The controller performs predetermined control on the detection device in accordance with a detection result of detecting, by the optical detector, an action when a user contacts the protrusion of the optical detector.

An image reading apparatus includes a main body that performs a scanning operation of sequentially reading a plurality of documents by a reading section that reads the plurality of documents and a document transport section that transports the plurality of documents to the reading section. The main body has a plurality of postures with different inclinations. The image reading apparatus includes a posture acquisition section that acquires posture information indicating the posture of the main body, and a controller that controls an operation of the document transport section. The controller interrupts the scanning operation when the posture indicated by the posture information is changed from a start of the scanning operation during the scanning operation.

A printing apparatus comprises a main body, an operation panel configured to pivot about a pivot shaft relative to the main body, a stopper that has one end pivotably connected to the operation panel, and has a cam face on a surface thereof, a guide member that is provided on the main body, has a first guide face and a second guide face, and is configured to guide the stopper such that the stopper is slidable in a longitudinal direction, a first pressing member configured to press the stopper against the first guide face while being in contact with the cam face of the stopper, and a second pressing member configured to come into contact with a face of the stopper different from the cam face, and press the stopper against the second guide face.

An image forming apparatus includes a housing, a discharging tray provided at an upper surface of the housing and onto which a sheet is to be discharged, an operation panel provided to the housing outside the discharging tray in a width direction perpendicular to a discharging direction of the sheet, at least a portion of the operation panel protruding with respect to a side face of the housing in the width direction, and a USB port provided at the side face of the housing in the width direction the USB port being arranged at the side face of the housing where the operation panel protrudes, on a downstream side with respect to the operation panel in the discharging direction, at a position that is lower than an upper end of the operation panel and is higher than a lower end of the operation panel.

In one embodiment, an image forming apparatus has a discharge portion and a guide member. The discharge portion has a space surrounded by wall surfaces of a chassis, and a side opening portion to open the space. The discharge portion receives a sheet to be discharged from a discharge port of the chassis, and houses the sheet in the space so that the sheet can be taken out from the side opening portion. The guide member is arranged at an end portion in the side opening portion, and extends toward upward from the rear side toward the front side of the chassis.

A framed collectible for displaying a continuously-looping playback of a digital video file is provided, wherein a display panel is controlled by a display controller to play at least one video file in a continuous loop on the display panel only while an output signal from a magnet sensor indicates no proximity to a magnet proximal to the back side of the display panel. The memory, which in an embodiment can be flash memory, is factory programmed and therefore the memory content cannot be changed by an end user. Packaging for storage and shipping of the framed collectible is also provided, which incorporates a magnet that is sensed by the magnet sensor to keep continuously-looping video playback switched off while the device is stored.

A information processing device includes an operating panel that includes an operating surface on which an input operation can be performed, and a housing that includes an exterior surface and to which a rotation shaft rotatably supporting the operating panel is coupled. The operating panel includes an exposed surface where the operating panel is exposed, the exposed surface being flush with the exterior surface when the operating panel is in a housed position in which the operating panel is housed in the housing. The operating panel includes a pressing surface at one end and a following surface at another end of the exposed surface with the rotation shaft being a boundary therebetween in plan view of the exposed surface when the operating panel is in the housed position. When the pressing surface is pressed, the operating panel is rotated, and the following surface protrudes outward from the exterior surface.

An electronic device includes a display device, a state detector, a storage device, an input device, and a control device. The control device causes the display device to display, when the open state is detected by the state detector, and the user information stored in the storage device and information received through the input device agree with each other, first information stored in the storage device in association with user information on a first display panel exposed in an open state of the display device, and restricts the display device from displaying the first information, when the open state of the display device is detected by the state detector, but the user information and the information received through the input device disagree, or when a folded state is detected by the state detector.
