Provided is an input device comprising: a touch panel which receives an operation from a user; an external member having an external surface substantially the same as a surface of the touch panel; and a near field communication unit which is provided near the surrounding of the touch panel and inside of the external member and performs communication with an object to be detected which is brought close to a detection range, wherein a position corresponding to the near field communication unit of the external member projects from the touch panel and is inclined such that the side close to the touch panel is higher than the side distant from the touch panel.

An image forming apparatus includes an apparatus body having a cartridge accommodation portion, an opening/closing member attached to the apparatus body and being movable between a first position at which the cartridge accommodation portion is exposed to the outside of the image forming apparatus and a second position at which the opening/closing member covers the cartridge accommodation portion and an operation panel unit for operating the image forming apparatus. A modular dashboard for a printing device includes: a board; a cut-out in the board to accommodate user controls; a lateral portion of the board that is lateral to the cut-out to cover a pocket in the printing device for containing a device adding functionality to the printing device; and a fastener for removably attaching the board to the printing device.

An image forming device includes a casing, an image forming unit, a first board, and an operational button. The image forming unit and the first board are disposed in the casing. The first board has a first opening extending through the first board, and a loop antenna disposed around the first opening. The operational button is located in the casing through the first opening. The operational button has a top surface exposed to an exterior of the casing.

Provided is an image forming apparatus including a charge processing section and an operation section that are brought closer in height to each other, thus improving the operability of a user. The coin insertion processing section (110) is configured to accept money and then execute charge processing so as to permit image formation by the image forming apparatus (100). The operation panel (120) is configured to, when the coin insertion processing section (110) executes the charge processing, accept setting of image formation by the image forming apparatus (100). The electrophotography printer (130) is configured to form an image of the read image data based on setting at the operation panel (120). The coin insertion processing section (110) is disposed at a height equal to a height of the operation panel (120).

An image forming apparatus includes an image forming unit configured to perform image formation on a sheet, a casing configured to house the image forming unit, an operation unit configured to receive an operation performed by a user, an electric wire extending from the casing to be connected to the operation unit and configured to transmit an electrical signal, a reinforcing member provided separate from and independent of the electric wire, the reinforcing member interconnecting the casing and the operation unit, and a covering configured to enclose therein the electric wire and the reinforcing member, wherein the reinforcing member is fixed to the casing and the operation unit in such a manner that a distance between a portion fixed to the casing and a portion fixed to the operation unit in the reinforcing member is shorter than a total length of the electric wire.

An image forming apparatus includes a wireless communication board on which a communication circuit that wirelessly communicates image data with an external device is mounted, wherein the wireless communication board has a first surface to which a magnetic sheet including a magnetic layer containing metal powder is attached, includes an antenna provided on a second surface opposite to the first surface of the wireless communication board and used by the communication circuit to transmit and receive wireless radio waves, and a region of the magnetic sheet on the first surface and a region of the antenna on the second surface overlap with each other in a thickness direction of the wireless communication board.

In one embodiment, an image forming apparatus has a discharge portion and a guide member. The discharge portion has a space surrounded by wall surfaces of a chassis, and a side opening portion to open the space. The discharge portion receives a sheet to be discharged from a discharge port of the chassis, and houses the sheet in the space so that the sheet can be taken out from the side opening portion. The guide member is arranged at an end portion in the side opening portion, and extends toward upward from the rear side toward the front side of the chassis.

An image forming device includes a light emission controller which controls emission of a plurality of types of light emission patterns by a plurality of light sources. The light emission controller emits each light emission pattern in response to a plurality of types of operations performed by an operator with respect to an operation portion. The light emission controller causes a light emission start timing of each of the plurality of types of light emission patterns to be different depending on the contents of the operations. The light emission controller emits first light emission patterns in response to operations performed by an operator with respect to the operation portion, emits second light emission patterns in response to a predetermined operation by the image forming device, and causes the first light emission patterns and the second light emission patterns to be different from each other in light emission end timing.
