Examples disclosed herein relate to a preferred language of a user interface. Examples disclosed herein include a job request including a language parameter associated with a preferred language different from a default language of a user interface of a service device, and displaying at least a portion of the user interface in the preferred language.

An information processing apparatus loaded with an application for extending functionality of the information processing apparatus, includes a storage unit configured to, before occurrence of an event relating to an application, store display information including a display item relating to the application and displayed on a display unit of the information processing apparatus, and a display control unit configured to, after occurrence of the event relating to the application, update display relating to the display item according to the display information corresponding to the event stored in the storage unit, under control of a control program that runs on an operating system and provides a framework for managing the application.

An image processing apparatus includes: a processor; a first interface that acquires information for user authentication; a second interface that acquires information for user identification; and a memory that stores a customization information table defining information for customizing an operation screen displayed on the first interface. The processor displays: when the first interface acquires the information for the user authentication, an operation screen customized, using the customization information table, for a user authenticated through the user authentication as the operation screen, and when the first interface does not acquire the information for the user authentication, an operation screen customized, using the customization information table, for a user identified by the information acquired by the second interface as the operation screen.

An operation screen display device includes a display; a keyword is retrieves from a user input and a setting of an operation condition of a job is searched out by the keyword, the setting being associated with the keyword. A display capable of communicating with a server includes: an auxiliary storage that stores character information of a specific language, the character information including a character string contained in a screen when the screen is displayed; an acceptor that accepts selection of a language to be used in displaying the screen; a receiver that receives a translation result obtained by translating the character information of the specific language into a new language from the server when the language, selection of which has been accepted by the acceptor, is the new language different from the specific language; a hardware processor that stores, in the auxiliary storage, character information of the new language, the character information being created based on the translation result received by the receiver; and a display part that displays the screen based on the character information of the new language.

An information processing apparatus includes a memory that stores an application and a module related to an operation of the application, and circuitry configured to detect a difference between a first character string included in a first file associated with the application and a second character string included in a second file associated with the module as difference information, the second character string corresponding to the first character string, transmit the difference information indicating the detected difference to a server, and update the second file in accordance with an update notification of the second file transmitted from the server.

An information processing apparatus which is capable of reliably switching display languages in response to depression of a language switching button. A display language on a display unit is switched to a language selected by a user from a list of languages displayed on the display unit. In response to selection of a language switching button by the user, the display language on the display unit is switched to one of a plurality of languages associated with the language switching button. Currently-displayed language information indicating a language currently displayed on the display unit is obtained when the language switching button is selected by the user. When the language switching button is selected by the user, the display language on the display unit is switched to one of the plurality of languages associated with the language switching button and different from a language currently displayed on the display unit.

A controller determines whether a language of an object in display data including the object and a coordinate of a rendering reference point of the object is a right-to-left writing language, and upon determining that the language of the object is the right-to-left writing language, determines an upper-right corner of a display screen of a display panel as a reference point, determines a position of the rendering reference point of the object on the display screen based on the determined reference point and the coordinate of the rendering reference point of the object included in the display data, and drives the display panel to display the object on the display screen based on the determined position of the rendering reference point on the display screen.

In a process of printing an arbitrary text string using a composite print function, in a case where font extension using a font of a display language is not possible, a character at a first position in the text string is extracted and a font is retrieved that allows font extension for the extracted character. Using the retrieved font, font extension is performed for the text string.

A service use support device used for receiving a plurality of services, includes a hardware processor that: acquires one or more of target images to be processed; selects a preferred service from among the plurality of services for each of the one or more of target images on the basis of a degree at which each attribute satisfies a condition set for each of the plurality of services; and transfers each of the one or more of target images to a provider that provides each preferred service.
