A control method for an information processing apparatus which comprises a memory that stores a graphical user interface (GUI) application capable of providing a GUI in a case where a driver that does not have a function of providing a GUI is selected, the control method includes causing the GUI application to acquire drawing data generated by a drawing application, acquiring, by the GUI application, at least either of data including information indicating a setting and data including information indicating a capability of the driver, and providing, the GUI application, a first display item.

An image forming apparatus that prevents generation of correction data without setting a proper test original. A mat is closed for pressing an original on a platen. An opening/closing sensor detects a closed state and an open state of the mat. A density correction section corrects image data based on a correction condition. A printer forms an image based on image data. A CPU controls the printer to form a pattern on a sheet, controls a CCD sensor to acquire read data concerning an image of the original, according to user instruction for the CCD sensor to read the original, and generates the correction condition based on the read data. When user instruction is given, if the open state of the mat is not changed to the closed state, the CPU displays a screen prompting the user to place the sheet on the platen.

In an image processing system, a multifunction printer carries out image reading or printing in accordance with processing execution condition information stored in a storage apparatus of a host PC. A storage apparatus of a client PC stores processing execution condition information. In a case where the client PC is connected to the host PC via the network, a control apparatus transmits the processing execution condition information stored in the storage apparatus to the host PC. The host PC stores the received processing execution condition information in the storage apparatus.

A remote management system includes an information processing apparatus and an electronic apparatus. A second controller of the information processing apparatus detects communication speed between the information processing apparatus and the electronic apparatus, and transmits, when the communication speed drops to a predetermined level, a second instruction for reducing a data amount of a first input screen, from a second communication device to the electronic apparatus. A first controller of the electronic apparatus reduces the data amount of the first input screen to a predetermined amount, when a first communication device receives the second instruction, and transmits a second input screen having the reduced data amount, from the first communication device to the information processing apparatus. The second controller causes, when the second communication device receives the second input screen transmitted from the electronic apparatus, a second display device to display the second input screen received.

According to an embodiment, an information processing system includes a device, and a service providing system. The device includes predetermined functions. The service providing system executes an application having execution order of programs defined therefor so as to execute a processing flow using one or more of the predetermined functions. The service providing system includes a management unit, and a screen configuring unit. The management unit generates application information having metadata information and the application associated with each other, the metadata information being associated with a user who uses the application and used when the application is executed. The screen configuring unit generates, when the application is executed, based on the application information, a user interface that receives setup operation related to metadata corresponding to the metadata information in the application.

A processing executing apparatus includes: a display; a storage that stores group identifying information for identifying a first group of a plurality of groups; a communication device communicable with a server that stores user information corresponding to each of users and at least including group belonging information indicating which group each of the users belongs; and a controller. The controller executes: a first receiving processing in which the controller receives, from the server, user information including the group belonging information indicating the first group identified by the group identifying information stored in the storage; and a first display processing in which the controller controls the display to display at least one operation button for each user corresponding to the user information received in the first receiving processing. The at least one operation button is for instructing execution of at least one processing.

An image forming apparatus are installed with a plurality of applications each for executing at least one of a plurality of functions of the image forming apparatus. The image forming apparatus includes a memory to store first information associating each of the plurality of applications with at least one of the plurality of functions executed by the application. The image forming apparatus further includes circuitry configured to: set, for each of the plurality of functions, restriction information indicating whether or not to restrict use of the function; and control, in a screen including icons each for starting a corresponding one of the plurality of applications, a display state of each of the icons of the applications based on the restriction information set by the circuitry for the function associated with the application by the first information.

An information processing apparatus includes an acquisition unit configured to acquire a measurement result obtained by a measurement unit that measures a characteristic of a print medium to be used in a printing apparatus, a notification control unit configured to cause a notification unit to provide notification of information indicating a print media type, and a storage unit configured to store information on a predetermined characteristic of each of a plurality of print media types, wherein, based on the measurement result acquired by the acquisition unit and usage history information indicating print media types used in the printing apparatus, the notification control unit causes the notification unit to provide notification of information indicating a print media type for which information on the predetermined characteristic stored in the storage unit corresponds to a characteristic indicated in the measurement result and which has a usage history indicated in the usage history information.
