The flat cable includes a follow-up deformed section deformable following a movement of the scanning body, and a bent section bent so that the flat cable is aligned in a main scanning direction. The bent section is arranged on a lower surface of a base of the scanning body, and a holder that holds the bent section is formed on the lower surface of the base.

A medium transport portion includes a main body portion, a tray unit, and a support guide member. The main body portion includes a first manual feed path and a second manual feed path. The tray unit can be accommodated in the main body portion in a non-use state, and a medium is mounted thereon in a use state. The support guide member is movable in a Z-direction, and supports the tray unit such that a first position that the tray unit is positioned in the first manual feed path, a second position of being positioned in the second manual feed path, and a third position of being accommodated in the main body portion are switched.

An image reading apparatus includes a first image reading unit, a second image reading unit provided on a side opposite from the first image reading unit with respect to a sheet feeding passage, a first guiding member, a second guiding member, a first unit holding the first image reading unit and the second guiding member, and a second unit holding the second image reading unit and the first guiding member. An image forming apparatus includes an apparatus body including an image forming portion configured to form an image on a sheet, a rotating unit disposed above the apparatus body and rotatably supported around a first rotary shaft with respect to the apparatus body, and a cover portion rotatably supported around a second rotary shaft extending in parallel to the first rotary shaft with respect to the apparatus body. The rotating unit and the cover portion are opened from a front side of the image forming apparatus to a rear side of the image forming apparatus. The second rotary shaft is disposed on the rear side of the first rotary shaft.

An image reading device includes: a controller which performs a first drive operation for rotating the discharge roller, and a second drive operation for moving the discharge guide between the third position and the fourth position. The controller stops the first drive operation when performing the second drive operation, and stops the second drive operation when performing the first drive operation.

In one example, an apparatus includes a plate configured to pivot about a pivot point, a pulley coupled to a first planar side of the plate and configured to rotate a belt, a motor coupled to the first planar side of the plate and configured to drive the pulley, and a torsion spring coupled to a second planar side of the plate that is opposite the first planar side and configured to apply tension to the belt.
