A document feeder includes an apparatus body to which a document feed unit is attached, a sheet feed tray that moves up and down toward the document feed unit, an open/close cover attached openably and closably to the apparatus body and opens the document transport path and the document feed unit when opened, and a unit pressing arm attached to the open/close cover. When the open/close cover is closed, the unit pressing arm presses the document feed unit toward the sheet feed tray.

A drawer mechanism includes a housing, a drawer, and a connector. The housing has at least one open side. The drawer is incorporated in the housing and insertable into and drawable from the open side of the housing. The connector connects the housing and a rear side of the drawer in a drawing direction of the drawer. The connector includes a first pivoting member, a second pivoting member, and a biasing member. The biasing member is disposed at a contact portion between the first pivoting member and the second pivoting member and configured to bias the first pivoting member and the second pivoting member in directions in which the first pivoting member and the second pivoting member are closed.

An image reading device includes: an original-document table at which an original document is mounted; a reading unit configured to read the original document mounted at the original-document table; an opening/closing section configured to be able to open and close the original-document table; a power source configured to apply power for opening and closing to the opening/closing section; a proximity sensor configured to output a detection signal in accordance with approach of a detection target; and a control unit configured to control the power source on a basis of the detection signal from the proximity sensor.

An image reading apparatus for reading image information from a sheet includes a cover unit, a sheet feeding member, a conveying guide, and a reading unit including a transparent member and a reading portion. The cover unit is rotatable between a closed position where the cover unit forms a sheet conveying passage in cooperation with the conveying guide and an open position where the sheet conveying passage is open. In a state in which the cover unit is positioned in the closed position, the transparent member is exposed to an outside of the image reading apparatus by rotation of the conveying guide and the reading unit.

An upper unit configured to open and close an upper portion of a lower unit includes: a first reading unit disposed in a medium transport path, the first reading unit being configured to read a surface of a transported medium; a substrate coupled to the first reading unit; a cable having one end and another end, the one end being coupled to a first coupling portion of the first reading unit, the other end being coupled to a second coupling portion of the substrate; and a facing portion facing the lower unit in a state in which the upper unit is closed, the facing portion being configured to be attached to and detached from the upper unit. The cable is disposed at a position exposed when the facing portion is detached from the upper unit.

A recording apparatus includes a lower unit having a recording section configured to perform recording on a medium, and an upper unit disposed on the lower unit, the upper unit including a reading section configured to read an image of the document, in which the lower unit includes a medium discharge section configured to discharge the medium toward the rear of the apparatus, and a medium receiving section disposed on the apparatus rear side with respect to the medium discharge section, the medium receiving section being configured to receive the medium discharged, and the upper unit is shorter than the lower unit in the apparatus front-rear direction and the upper unit is closer to the apparatus front with respect to the lower unit such that an end portion of the medium receiving section in the medium discharging direction is exposed at the rear of the upper unit.

An image forming apparatus includes an operating part configured to form an image, a detection unit configured to detect a status of the operating part to generate sequential data which is updated sequentially, a determination unit configured to determine whether the sequential data satisfies a predetermined condition or not, a storage unit configured to store the number of times of determination of whether the sequential data satisfies the predetermined condition or not, a preprocessing unit, and an accumulation unit. The preprocessing unit is configured to generate data, having a data size smaller than that of the sequential data, to be used for predicting a state of the operating part. Further, the accumulation unit is configured to accumulate the data based on the sequential data which is determined to satisfy the predetermined condition by the determination unit.

A reading apparatus comprising a lower case, a reading portion, a drive portion and a stay is used. The reading portion moves between an open position in which the lower case is open and a closed position in which the lower case is closed and accommodates a reading sensor. The drive portion moves the reading sensor in a moving direction. The stay is coupled to the reading portion rotatably in one end and coupled to the lower case rotatably in the other end and moves a rotation shaft with in a direction orthogonal to the shaft. The drive portion is located outside a movable range of the reading sensor. When the reading portion is in the closed position, the stay is disposed in an area in which the stay overlaps the drive portion in the moving direction and overlaps the drive portion in height direction.

A booth that is available for use when reserved and that is installed with an image forming apparatus accommodated therein, the booth including a panel having a first opening through which the image forming apparatus accommodated in the booth is operable by a person who has entered the booth; and a panel having a second opening through which the image forming apparatus accommodated in the booth is operable by a person from outside the booth.

A housing includes a body having an opening. The body includes a peripheral portion that abuts on the opening. A cover covers at least a part of the opening. A seal is sandwiched between the cover and the peripheral portion of the body. At least one of the cover and the peripheral portion of the body includes a corner portion and a linear portion. The corner portion has a first shape that defines one of a gap between the cover and the peripheral portion of the body and a width of the seal. The linear portion abuts on the corner portion. The linear portion has a second shape that defines the one of the gap between the cover and the peripheral portion of the body and the width of the seal. The second shape is different from the first shape of the corner portion.
