The cable is disposed at a position exposed when the facing portion is detached from the upper unit.

A multifunction device includes an image reading unit, an image forming unit, a lower housing, an upper housing, an operation panel, and a contacting/separating portion. The upper housing includes: a front wall from which the operation panel protrudes frontward; and a rear end portion pivotably connected to the lower housing. The upper housing is pivotable between a seated position and an ascent position relative to the lower housing. The operation panel has a panel front end and a panel bottom surface formed with a groove recessed upward therefrom. The contacting/separating portion is provided at the panel bottom surface. The contacting/separating portion abuts on the lower housing when the upper housing is at the seated position and is separated away from the lower housing when the upper housing is at the ascent position. The groove includes a first groove part positioned between the panel front end and the contacting/separating portion.

A housing includes a body having an opening. The body includes a peripheral portion that abuts on the opening. A cover covers at least a part of the opening. A seal is sandwiched between the cover and the peripheral portion of the body. At least one of the cover and the peripheral portion of the body includes a corner portion and a linear portion. The corner portion has a first shape that defines one of a gap between the cover and the peripheral portion of the body and a width of the seal. The linear portion abuts on the corner portion. The linear portion has a second shape that defines the one of the gap between the cover and the peripheral portion of the body and the width of the seal. The second shape is different from the first shape of the corner portion.

An operation unit is provided on a front side of the image forming apparatus. A document feeding portion feeds a document supported by a document supporting portion in a document feeding direction from a front side of the image forming apparatus toward the rear side of the image forming apparatus. A document discharge portion discharges the document in a document discharge direction from the rear side toward the front side. The operation unit is disposed on one side with respect to an apparatus center of the image forming apparatus in a left-right direction orthogonal to a direction from the front side to the rear side. A conveyance center of the document feeding portion in the left-right direction is disposed on the other side with respect to the apparatus center in the left-right direction.

A document supporting portion includes a first supporting portion and a second supporting portion. The first supporting portion has a first supporting surface that supports a document. The second supporting portion has a second supporting surface that supports the document together with the first supporting surface and provided so as to be slidable between a first position at which the second supporting portion located above the first supporting portion and a second position at which the second supporting surface supports the document together with the first supporting surface. In a state where the second supporting portion is located at the first position, the second supporting surface constitutes a portion of an upper surface of the document feeding apparatus.
