Image reading apparatus
A medium feeding apparatus includes a first feed roller, a second feed roller, a first separating roller, and a second separating roller. The medium feeding apparatus further includes a first curve forming portion that forms, in a medium, a curve in a width direction. The first curve forming portion is in contact with a medium at a portion upstream of a nip position between the feed rollers and the separating rollers in the feeding direction and at a portion between the first separating roller and the second separating roller in the width direction and a state in which the portion in contact with the medium is, with respect to the outer circumferential surfaces of the feed rollers, positioned in a rotation center direction of the feed rollers is maintained.
Document reader and control method that reads document medium during transport
A document reader includes a reading unit that reads an image of a document medium, a second driving roller pair that nips and transports the document medium downstream of a read-enabling position of the reading unit, and a control unit that controls rotation of the second driving roller pair. The control unit stops the rotation of the second driving roller pair in a state in which the document medium is not positioned in the read-enabling position and in a state in which the document medium is nipped by the second driving roller pair.

Printing method, printing system, and non-transitory computer-readable recording medium recording print control program for scheduling of printing having an automatic switching function for roll paper
After the end of initial processing, such as a setting of a priority mode, a print schedule (a job execution schedule and a roll paper loading schedule) is created in consideration of the type, the remaining amount, and the like of roll paper loaded in each of a plurality of slots constituting an autochanger. Then, a possible loading time is obtained, which is a time at which roll paper can be loaded into a loading target slot that is a slot in which the roll paper is to be loaded during execution of continuous printing.
Print system system for displaying a preview for a job containing a plurality of different roll media
A print preview of each page is correctly displayed even in the case of a print job including a plurality of pages requiring different sizes and types of print medium. For this purpose, print medium information about a print medium fed from each of a plurality of feeding units provided in a printing apparatus is acquired and, based on this information and setting information set for each of a plurality of pages included in a print job, each of the pages is allocated to a print medium fed from any one of the feeding units. After that, a preview in which a page allocated to a first print medium fed from a first feeding unit is laid out on an image representing the first print medium and a preview in which a page allocated to a second print medium fed from a second feeding unit is laid out on an image representing the second print medium are displayed.
MEDIUM FEEDING DEVICE AND IMAGE READING APPARATUS
A medium feeding device includes: a medium mounting section that a medium is mounted; a feeding unit that feeds the medium in a feeding direction; a separation unit that separates the medium with the feeding unit; an operation detection unit that is disposed at a position facing a surface of the medium in the medium mounting section and detects a movement of the medium in the feeding direction; an interval forming unit that forms an interval in the feeding direction between a trailing end of a first medium which is the lowest medium fed among media mounted on the medium mounting section and a trailing end of a second medium which is bound with the first medium and stacked on the first medium; and a control unit that stops feeding of the medium based on a detection interval by a detection value of the operation detection unit.
Media curl mitigation system
A printer includes: a motor driving a transport member according to an operational parameter, to transport media along a media path from a media supply to a printhead; a first distance sensor disposed on a first side of the media path to measure a first distance between the media and the first distance sensor; and a controller configured to: receive the measured distance; detect curling of the media based on the first measured distance; and responsive to detecting curling of the media, update the operational parameter at the motor.
IMAGE STITCHING FROM MULTIPLE LINE SCANNERS
Methods and systems for blending line image data streams from a film scanner are disclosed. In one embodiment, a method is provided including receiving multiple data streams from line scan sensors. An overlap position may then be initially selected, which forms an overlap position between two of the data streams. A difference measure may then be calculated between the two data streams within the overlap area. The overlap positions may then be iteratively altered between a plurality of overlap positions, and additional difference measures may be computed for each overlap position. A blending position may then be selected from the plurality of overlap positions, which may correspond to the overlap position with the smallest difference measure. The data streams may then be blended at the selected blending position.
Closed loop color calibration with multiple inline imagers
Production methods and systems enable the inline production of instant lottery tickets or documents using at least three different digital imagers. By interfacing at least three digital imagers in a common printing line, heretofore unknown printing efficiencies are realized, particularly on smaller volume print runs. These methods and systems enhance the overall appearance of the printed instant lottery tickets or documents, as well as potentially expand the consumer base.
