Information reading device and image forming apparatus for applying detection object to recording medium according to degree of confidentiality
A reading device includes: a reading unit configured to read a first recording medium; and an information acquisition unit configured to acquire information related to a detection object applied to the first recording medium.
System and method for alignment of scan documents
A system and method for aligning documents for scanning includes a multifunction peripheral with a controller having a processor and associated memory. The controller issues instructions controlling operation of a scanner. A tangible document is placed on a surface of a scanner platen, and a sensor determines its location relative to the platen. An optimal position of the document relative to the platen is determined. The processor then generates a graphical rendering on an associated display indicative of a directed repositioning of the document on the platen in accordance with a determined optimal position of the document relative to the platen.
Image reading device, image forming apparatus and image reading system
An image reading device includes a reading part, a document pressing part, a capacitance sensor, a controller and an informing part. The capacitance sensor detects a capacitance varying in response to opening and closing of the document pressing part and presence or absence of the document on a document placement face. The controller determines that the document pressing part is disposed in the closing position and that the document is placed on the document placement face, based on a detection result of the capacitance sensor. The informing part informs a user of leaving the document on the document placement face behind in a case where the controller determines that the document placement part is disposed in the closing position and the document is placed on the document placement face after a predetermined time elapses from a completion of an image reading in the reading part.
TRANSPORT APPARATUS, IMAGE SCANNER, AND PRINTER
A transport apparatus includes a transport path on which a medium is transported; a transmitter configured to transmit an ultrasonic wave to the medium transported on the transport path; and a receiver configured to receive an ultrasonic wave from the medium, in which the transport path is provided between the transmitter and the receiver, and is provided in a long-distance sound field of an ultrasonic wave transmitted from the transmitter.
GENERATING AN OUTLINE PREVIEW
Example for generating an outline preview of a printed medium are described. In one example, presence of a printed medium atop a supporting pane fitted onto an enclosed housing of a scanning system is ascertained using a plurality of sensors arranged in an array beneath the supporting pane. Thereafter, position of the printed medium on the supporting pane based on proximity of the printed medium with each of the plurality of sensors, is estimated- Based on the estimation, the position of the printed medium in relation to a specified scan area setting of a printable format is correlated. The scan area setting may be considered as indicative of size of a target medium on which the printable format is to be printed. An outline preview of the printed medium, with respect to an outline of the target medium based on the correlated position of the printed medium, is generated.
IMAGE READING APPARATUS
An image reading apparatus includes a transport unit which transports a document, and reading units which read an image of the document which is transported. It is assumed that an operation of reading an image when specific setting information is not input to a control device of the image reading apparatus is set to a first reading mode, and an operation of reading an image when specific setting information is input to the control device is set to a second reading mode. In this case, in the second reading mode, image data of an image with a resolution which is equal to that in the first reading mode is generated, while causing the reading units to read an image from a document which is transported by the transport device at a lower speed than that in the first reading mode.
MEDIUM TRANSPORTING APPARATUS, IMAGE READING APPARATUS, AND METHOD FOR DETECTING MEDIUM BY MEDIUM TRANSPORTING APPARATUS
A medium transporting apparatus includes a feeding roller that rotates to transport a medium along a transportation path, an electrode installed downstream of the feeding roller on the transportation path and having conductivity, and an electric charge detecting circuit that outputs a signal having a magnitude corresponding to an amount of an electric charge, which moves from the medium to the electrode after the medium being transported along the transportation path comes into contact with the electrode.
IMAGE READING APPARATUS AND METHOD OF CALCULATING MEDIUM INCLINATION IN IMAGE READING APPARATUS
An image reading apparatus has: electrodes that come into contact with a medium during transport; charge detection circuits, each of which corresponds to one of the electrodes; a reader, and a controller. The controller executes inclination inference processing for calculating the inclination of the medium with respect to a transport path as an inferred inclination value according to a signal from each charge detection circuit, inclination detection processing for deriving the inclination of the medium with respect to the transport path as a detected inclination value according to the result of reading by the reader, and correction value deriving processing for storing a correction value based on the difference between the detected inclination value and the inferred inclination value in a storage section. In inclination inference processing with the correction value stored in the storage section, the inferred inclination value is calculated in consideration of the correction value.
MEDIUM TRANSPORT DEVICE, IMAGE READING APPARATUS, AND STATIC ELECTRICITY DETECTION CIRCUIT
A medium transport device includes a transport section transporting a medium in a contact manner, an electrode detecting static electricity charged on the medium, and a static electricity detection circuit. The static electricity detection circuit includes a voltage clamp circuit clamping a detection signal input from the electrode to a predetermined voltage, an amplifier circuit amplifying an output signal of the voltage clamp circuit, a rectifier circuit rectifying an output signal of the amplifier circuit, and a comparator circuit serving as a determination circuit determining whether the medium exists based on an output signal of the rectifier circuit.
