An image forming apparatus capable of communicating with the post-processing apparatus. Systems and methods are provided for a multi-configuration electronic device carrying case. The multi-configuration electronic device carrying case includes a protective encasing structure configured to receive and hold an electronic device. The carrying case further includes at least two adjustable straps configured to attach the encasing structure to a person in one of a plurality of configurations. The configurations include a hip holster configuration, where one adjustable strap is used for connection around a waist of the person and one adjustable strap is used for connection around one leg of the person. The configurations also include a back configuration, where one adjustable strap is used for connection around each arm of the person to attach the encasing structure to a back of the person.

An electronic apparatus includes a power switch element configured to switch on and off power supply, a power-source supply controller configured to request an external apparatus for the power supply when coupling with the external apparatus is established, and a power switch configured to switch on and off the power switch element. The power-source supply controller includes an output unit configured to switch from a first state to a second state when the coupling with the external apparatus is established. The electronic apparatus includes a power controlling switch element between the power switch element and the output unit, the power controlling switch element being configured to keep the power switch element off by remaining off until the power switch is operated when the output unit is in the second state and the power switch element is off.

A facsimile apparatus includes a photo relay that switches a state of connection between an externally connected telephone set and a telephone line; a rectifying unit that rectifies a signal at a time when an incoming call from the telephone line arrives into DC power; a holding unit that holds the DC power obtained by rectification by the rectifying unit; and a switching controller that performs control in such a manner that supply of the DC power held in the holding unit to the photo relay causes the externally connected telephone set to be connected to the telephone line.
