An electronic device that is able to operate by receiving a power supply from a host device through a Universal Serial Bus (USB). The electronic device acts as a first sink device and is connected to a second sink device that is able to operate by receiving a power supply from the host device through the USB and the connection to the first sink device. Each of the first sink device and the second sink device is provided with a CC terminal that obtains power supplying capability information from the host device, a pull-up or pull-down resistor connected to the CC terminal, and a GND terminal that grounds a circuit of the CC terminal and the pull-up or pull-down resistor. The electronic device changes a state of grounding of the pull-up or pull-down resistor to the GND terminal, in one of the first sink device and the second sink device.

An image processing apparatus includes a connection unit, a first power supply unit, a second power supply unit, and a control device. The connection unit is connected to an electronic apparatus including a controlled device and a communication relay unit. The first power supply unit can supply power to the controlled device. The second power supply unit can supply power to the communication relay unit. The control device is capable of switching a power supply state by the first power supply unit and the second power supply unit between at least a first stop state in which power supply by the first power supply unit is continued and power supply by the second power supply unit is stopped and a second stop state in which power supply by the first power supply unit and the second power supply unit is stopped.

An information processing apparatus, including an interface and a controller configured to: receive, from an external device, first change acceptable or non-acceptable information indicating whether changing of an amount of electric power to be supplied to the external device is allowable; supply, after the receiving the first change acceptable or non-acceptable information, the electric power to the external device; receive, during executing the supplying the electric power, second change acceptable or non-acceptable information indicating whether the changing of the power amount is allowable; determine, during executing the supplying the electric power, whether limiting of the power amount is necessary; and limit, based on the second change acceptable or non-acceptable information, the power amount when the controller determines to limit the power amount in the determining whether limiting of the power amount is necessary and the receiving the second change acceptable or non-acceptable information is executed.

According to aspects of the present disclosures, a printing device has a print head, a battery, a USB PD controller. The printing device is connected to an external power source in accordance with a connection compliant with a USB standard. The external power source has a plurality of electrical power profiles. The printing device uses one of the external power source and the battery as an electrical power supplying source of the print head. The printing device a power source voltage value with a rated voltage value of the print head, when the power source voltage value is larger than the rated voltage value, determine the battery as the electrical power supplying source, and, when the power source voltage value is equal to or less than the rated voltage value, determining the external power source as the electrical power supplying source.

A printing apparatus that is communicable with an external apparatus and performs printing by using first electric power supplied from an external power supply, the printing apparatus includes a storage section, a connector which is connectable to a cable and to which second electric power is supplied from the external apparatus via the cable, and a control section, and the control section acts as a storage that stores information in the storage section when the first electric power is not supplied from the external power supply but the second electric power is supplied from the external apparatus via the connector and acts as a device that performs the printing when the first electric power is supplied from the external power supply.

A power supply control device includes a switch to output a switch depression signal, which is in a first logic level during a period in which the switch is not depressed, and is in a second logic level during a period in which the switch is depressed, a first power supply to generate a first DC voltage based on AC power, which is supplied from an outside, and to apply the first DC voltage to a predetermined load, and a second power supply configured to generate a second DC voltage based on the AC power irrespective of a state of the switch, and a controller to operate on the second DC voltage, to switch an operation state of the first power supply when the switch depression signal has switched from a first logic level to a second logic level and remains at the second logic level.

In a case where the state of the battery is an abnormal state in which the battery is not chargeable, the image forming apparatus displays information indicating that the battery is in the abnormal state and information about a remaining capacity of the battery.

An image processing apparatus comprises a CPU for controlling the image processing apparatus and a microcomputer that verifies alteration of a program that is stored in a nonvolatile memory and that the CPU executes, and that outputs a notification signal that indicates the verification result. The image processing apparatus comprises a power source control unit for controlling a power source of the image processing apparatus, and the power source control unit, when the image processing apparatus is activated, supplies power to the microcomputer, and when a notification signal outputted from the microcomputer is received, holds the verification result that the notification signal indicates and shuts off the supply of power to the microcomputer.

An information processing apparatus includes a power processor, an interface, a detector that detects at least one of a voltage value and a current value on an electric power line which connects the power processor and the interface, and a controller. The controller notifies a swap request for swapping electric power roles with an external device to the external device via the interface in a case where a detection value of the detector indicates an abnormal value while electric power is supplied to the external device via the interface.
