The apparatus is configured to verify a native program stored in a first storage unit with reference to a correct value stored in advance in the first storage unit; and, when an additional program is stored in a second storage unit that is different from the first storage unit, storing a correct value corresponding to the additional program in the second storage unit. The information processing apparatus is further configured to verify the additional program with reference to the correct value stored in the second storage unit, in addition to verifying the native program stored in the first storage unit.

A printing device configuration application, referred to herein as a “mass deployment tool,” provides the capability to configure a large number of printing devices for cloud printing, in accordance with specific requirements of a cloud print service. The mass deployment tool deploys and installs a cloud print configuration application to a plurality of printing devices. The mass deployment tool transmits registration settings data to the cloud print configuration applications and causes the cloud print configuration applications to register their corresponding printing device with the cloud print service. An electronic apparatus includes: a storage device; an application program execution circuit that executes an application program for managing input/output of data to/from the storage device; a counter control circuit that counts the number of execution of the application program and records a time and date of the execution; a retention period setting circuit that obtains execution frequency of the application program based on the time and date recorded by the counter control circuit, and sets a retention period of the data stored in the storage device depending on the obtained execution frequency; and a data deletion circuit that deletes the data from the storage device when the retention period has passed.

The screen information request receiver receives, from a device, a screen information request used to request screen information for providing an application. The screen information includes at least dealer information representing a dealer that sells the device. An information processing system including an information processing apparatus and an electronic device is provided for introducing an application stored in the information processing apparatus to the electronic device. The information processing apparatus includes a first processor configured to execute a first program to implement processes of storing and managing configuration information that is necessary for introducing an application to the electronic device, the configuration information including a list of one or more applications to be introduced and license information associated with the one or more applications that is necessary for introducing the one or more applications. The electronic device includes a second processor configured to execute a second program to implement processes of acquiring the configuration information from the information processing apparatus, acquiring the one or more applications from the information processing apparatus based on the acquired configuration information, and introducing the acquired one or more applications.

An information processing system includes an information processing apparatus and a server. A acquisition unit of the apparatus acquires a first screen. A display unit of the apparatus displays the first screen. When a button to which an instruction is attached is pressed, a determination request information transmission unit of the apparatus transmits, to the server, determination request information requesting a validity determination to determine whether the application associated with the instruction can be used in the information processing apparatus. An image forming apparatus capable of preventing compatibility with an extension application from being impaired. The image forming apparatus installs an operation program of an extension application therein, and includes a VM (Virtual Machine) that executes a bytecoded program generated based on the operation program. The bytecoded program is generated by converting the operation program to bytecode. The operation program and the bytecoded program are written into a package, and the package is stored in a storage of the image forming apparatus.
