An information processing apparatus includes a memory, a first obtaining unit, a second obtaining unit, and an updating unit. The memory stores setting information that is information for indicating a condition in which a user has utilized a function of the information processing apparatus. The first obtaining unit obtains, from a terminal apparatus, a user identification information for identifying the user, a function identification information for identifying a function utilized by the user, and apparatus identification information for identifying an apparatus that stores latest setting information used when the user has utilized the function most recently. The second obtaining unit obtains, in a case where the apparatus identified by the apparatus identification information is an external apparatus, the latest setting information from the external apparatus. The updating unit updates the setting information stored in the memory to the latest setting information obtained by the second obtaining unit.

A method of controlling a first apparatus and a second apparatus is provided. The first apparatus has a first operating environment that is on a host OS, but is not on a guest OS, and the second apparatus has a second operating environment that is on the guest OS. In the first apparatus, a program receives an operation from a user, and displays a first screen containing a button for displaying a screen by using another program based on a fact that the program operates in the first operating environment and a fact that the program has received the operation. In the second apparatus, the program receives the operation from a user, and displays a second screen not containing the button based on a fact that the program operates in the second operating environment and a fact that the program has received the operation.

A management device includes an output unit. The output unit outputs, in a case where any first function has been added among plural types of first function to an information processing device, information representing a second function obtained by excluding, from plural second functions that have become available by this addition, a second function that has been added to the information processing device, the information processing device being an information processing device to which it is possible to add the plural types of first function and the plural types of second function, the plural types of second function including a second function that becomes available in a case where any of the plural types of first function has been added.
