GUIDE ELEMENT FOR PAPER ALIGNMENT
An image scanning apparatus includes an image sensor to scan a manuscript, a transfer apparatus to pick up the manuscript and move the manuscript to a manuscript transfer path, and a loading apparatus to load the manuscript scanned by the image sensor. The loading apparatus includes a discharge tray to hold a discharged manuscript and a guide member to have one end rotatably disposed on the manuscript above an upper part of the discharge tray at an angle formed relative to the discharge tray based on a type of the manuscript.
Systems and methods relating to document and fastener identification
Method and systems of automated document processing described herein include activating in sequence a plurality of illumination modules of an illumination source to illuminate a document, where the plurality of illumination modules are located at different positions relative to the document. The document can be imaged each time the document is illuminated by an illumination module to provide a plurality of images. A shadow profile of the document can be obtained based on the plurality of images. One or more of a boundary of the document and presence of a fastener attached to the document can be identified using the shadow profile. Any fasteners present may be removed using a robot arm.
IMAGE SCANNING APPARATUS AND METHOD IMPLEMENTED IN THE SAME
An image scanning apparatus, comprising: a scanning device; a reference member; a correction unit; a controller; and a storage device, the scanning device comprising light receiving elements and a lens array, wherein the controller executes: a preparation process and an executive process, the preparation process comprising: a white reference data obtaining process to obtain white reference data by scanning a white reference original; and a white storing process to obtain white basic data by averaging the white reference data of a particular number of adjoining light receiving elements, wherein the executive process comprises: a reference member data obtaining process to obtain reference member data by scanning the reference member; a lens fluctuation calculation process to calculate fluctuation data of the correction data based on the reference member data; and a correction data generation process to generate the correction data by adding the fluctuation data to the white basic data.
Networked Wi-Fi stations having multi-level displays and multiple antennas
A kiosk system is described that may have multilevel displays and multiple network antennas. Upper level displays may be non-touch and a lower level display may include a touch display. The upper level displays may be affixed to a body of the kiosk using brackets. The kiosk may include first and second network interfaces. The first network interface may be provided to enable user terminals local to the kiosk to wirelessly access network resources via the kiosk system. The second network interface may enable the kiosk to access a remote system. The kiosk may be equipped with a camera, microphone, and/or a speaker.
Scanner Capable Of Flatbed Type Scanning With Image Reading Unit Disposed In Upper Unit
A scanner includes a lower unit and an upper unit. The lower unit includes a first document table on which a first document is to be placed. The upper unit includes a second document table on which a second document is to be loaded and a document feed path through which the second document is to be picked up from the second document table fed, the upper unit being coupled to the lower unit to pivot between a closed position in which the first document table is covered and an open position in which the first document table is exposed. The upper unit further includes a reading unit to read an image from the first document and the second document by performing flatbed scanning on the first document and document feed scanning on the second document.
READING APPARATUS, METHOD OF CONTROLLING READING APPARATUS, AND NON-TRANSITORY COMPUTER-READABLE STORAGE MEDIUM STORING PROGRAM CAUSING COMPUTER TO CONTROL READING APPARATUS
A scanner includes a second glass member, a main body frame, a sheet member, a document transport unit, a reading unit, and a control unit. The sheet member is arranged on the second glass member. The document transport unit transports a document such that the document is brought into contact with the second glass member in a first position and the document is brought into contact with the second glass member in a second position. The reading unit reads the document in a third position between the first position and the second position, the third position in which the document is out of contact with the sheet member and the second glass member. The control unit identifies the third position in accordance with a position of the sheet member detected by the reading unit.
BELT TRANSFER TYPE MULTI-FUNCTION DEVICE AND CONTROL METHOD THEREOF
Disclosed is a belt transfer type multi-function device for printing an image transferred on a belt to paper moving between a transfer roller and a belt roller, including a control device performing controlling such that an image to be printed on paper already caught between the transfer roller and the belt roller is printed as it is, and if printing should not be performed on next paper along a movement direction of paper, movement of the next paper is stopped on a transfer path of paper before the next paper is positioned between the transfer roller and the belt roller, the image already transferred on the transfer belt is deleted in a state in which the next paper is maintained to be stopped on the transfer path of paper, and the next paper in a stopped state is ejected as a blank paper through a ejection port of printed paper along the transfer path of paper, so that the image already transferred to the transfer belt, which is to be printed on the next paper along the movement direction of paper, is not printed on the next paper.
IMAGE READING APPARATUS AND IMAGE FORMING SYSTEM
An image reading apparatus reads an image of a sheet conveyed from an image forming apparatus. The image reading apparatus includes a transparent member including a first surface disposed on a first side on which the sheet is conveyed and a second surface disposed on a second side opposite to the first side, an image reading portion disposed on the second side and configured to read the image of the sheet at a reading position through the transparent member, an elastic member disposed to abut against the second surface of the transparent member and configured to press the transparent member toward the first side, and a guide disposed upstream of the reading position and configured to guide the sheet to the reading position. A downstream end of the guide contacts with the first surface of the transparent member and presses the transparent member toward the second side.
Control method for an apparatus for controlling a reading apparatus and storage medium
A control method for an apparatus for controlling a reading apparatus that performs reading in a transmission mode includes a read controlling step, a generating step and a processing step. In a read controlling step, the reading apparatus is controlled to read at least one film in the transmission mode based on a reading instruction from operating system standard software. In a generating step, a display image is generated, in which at least one frame image is arranged, based on a read image obtained by the reading in the read controlling step. In a processing step, a processing for displaying the display image generated in the generating step by using the operating system standard software, is executed.
Image reading apparatus
An image reading apparatus includes a main body part and an openable part. On an upper surface of the main body part, a first reading surface, a second reading surface and a first guide part arranged between the two reading surfaces are provided. When a direction parallel to a direction in which an original passes over the second reading surface is defined as a first direction, and a direction parallel to the second reading surface and orthogonal to the first direction is defined as a second direction, on the upper surface, a positioning convex part having a curved surface curved downward when viewed in the second direction is provided on an extended line of the first guide part. On a lower surface of the openable part, a positioning concave part having two inclined surfaces respectively contacting the curved surface when viewed in the second direction is provided.
