Provided is an image processing apparatus, an image processing method, and a recording medium capable of reproducing a plurality of copies of a document bundle while reducing the storage capacity of a storage device. In the image processing apparatus, a number of copies of a document bundle to be a reading target by an image reading unit that reads image data from each of the documents included in one or a plurality of copies of a document bundle is specified. Then, in a case where the specified number of copies of the document bundle is plural, document bundle image data corresponding to one copy of the document bundle of the image data read by the image reading unit, and specification information including at least the number of copies of the document bundle specified by the specification processing unit are correlated and stored.

Directed image capture can produce higher quality images such as more centrally located within a display and/or viewfinder of an image capture device, higher quality images have greater value for subsequent uses of captured images such as for information extraction or model reconstruction. Graphical guide(s) facilitate content placement for certain positions and quality assessments for the content of interest can be calculated such as for pixel distance of the content of interest to a centroid of the display or viewfinder, or the effect of obscuring objects. Quality assessments can further include instructions for improving the quality of the image capture for the content of interest.

When the communicator receives image data, and subsequently does not receive the next image data within a predetermined reception time, the controller obtains the time difference between the time of the reception end of the series of image data, and the reception time of the image data last received by the communicator, determines that the last received image data may be incomplete image data when the time difference is greater than or equal to a predetermined time, and determines whether to form an image based on the image data stored in the storage according to the determination.
