An information processing apparatus includes: a data sharing unit configured to cause an application selected as a data output destination to process data which is output by an application which is a data output source; a process-object-data generation control unit configured to generate process object data in one of a first format and a second format based on image data acquired by an image information interface from an image information source; and an application-information display unit configured to display identification images for identifying applications which the data sharing unit can select as the data output destination if the data sharing unit is to process either data of the first format or data of the second format.

An information processing apparatus includes a display controller. When a reduced image of a document and an accompanying image placed in the area surrounding the reduced image are presented, the display controller performs display control in such a manner that a selection image indicating that the reduced image is selected is presented in a different form in accordance with the accompanying image.

The processing unit stores image data created by executing a job in a storage unit. An information processing apparatus includes a processor configured to: store document data, a first character string, and a second character string that are associated with each other, the second character string being to be inputted by an operation that has a procedure quantity smaller than a procedure quantity of an operation by which a user inputs the first character string; output the document data that is associated with the second character string to a requester of the document data when the second character string is acquired if a predetermined condition is satisfied; avoid outputting the document data that is associated with the second character string to the requester of the document data when the second character string is acquired if the condition is not satisfied; and output the document data that is associated with the first character string to the requester of the document data when the first character string is acquired if the condition is not satisfied.

A system and method provides automated prediction of filenames and storage locations for scan files generated from a user's scan of their financial documents. A prediction model is generated for the user based on weighted values derived from preexisting filenames and preexisting storage locations for their stored electronic files. Text or images from each scan document is analyzed and weighted and compared to the user's prediction model and a suggested name and storage location is automatically generated. The suggestions are confirmed or corrected by the user prior to storage, and any corrections are used to update the user's prediction model.

When image data is stored in a storing device, the writing speed of the image data is avoided from being lowered. An image forming apparatus is provided with a scanner section that reads a sheet, a storing section that stores image data read by the scanner section, and a controlling section that controls the reading by the scanner section and the storing in the storing section. The controlling section issues, to the storing section, a clear command erasing the stored data with respect to the data storage region of the storing section before the reading by the scanner section at the time of executing a job using the scanner section, so that the clearing operation during the writing operation of the image data is not performed.

A computing device: obtains an electronic image of a receipt, the receipt containing numerical information with no predefined format; automatically captures the numerical information in the obtained electronic image; organizes the captured numerical information; enables editing of the captured numerical information; enables viewing of the captured numerical information in a desired format; and enables combining the captured numerical information in the obtained electronic image with other numerical information previously captured from electronic images of other receipts into a report having predetermined categories. The report summarizes expense information contained in the captured numerical information in the obtained electronic image with the other numerical information previously captured from the electronic images of the other receipts.

An information processing apparatus communicably connected with an intermediary device capable of communicating with at least one device, the information processing apparatus including: circuitry configured to receive, from a terminal operated by a user, identification information that the terminal has acquired from the extraneous source; and transmit a request for execution of a process associated with the acquired identification information to the intermediary device, the request for execution causing the intermediary device to execute the process according to the request for execution to control the device.

An example system includes a processor and a non-transitory computer-readable medium having stored therein instructions that are executable to cause the system to perform various functions. The functions include, for each sample print of a plurality of sample prints, receiving respective color-measurement data indicative of color measurement patches printed on the sample print. The functions also include determining, using the respective color-measurement data for the sample prints, a respective color gamut volume for each sample print. Further, the functions include ordering the sample prints in order of increasing color gamut volume using the respective color gamut volumes for the sample prints. Still further, the functions include providing for display a presentation order for the sample prints, with the sample prints of the plurality of sample prints being arranged in order of increasing color gamut volume.
