Image reading device capable of generating tag about document and image forming apparatus with the same

An image forming apparatus includes a storage device and a control device. The storage device stores a document. The control device includes a processor and functions, through the processor executing a control program, as a character recognizer and a tag generator. The character recognizer analyzes the document stored in the storage device and recognizes characters contained in the document. The tag generator analyzes, based on a recognition result of the character recognizer, a sequence of characters contained in the document and generates a tag expressing a feature of descriptive content of the document.

A device communicably connected to one or more storage servers via a network includes circuitry. The circuitry acquires storage setting information including a setting relating to at least one storage server to be used by a user who is identified through a user authentication process. The circuitry acquires application operation information including a setting relating to operation of an application that operates on the device, the application operation information being associated with identification information of the user. The circuitry communicates with one storage server that is set by the application operation information, based on the setting relating to the at least one storage server included in the storage setting information.

Non-transitory Computer-Readable Recording Medium for Mobile Terminal

A non-transitory computer-readable recording medium storing a first instruction-set of computer-readable instructions for a terminal device. The first instruction-set causes, when executed by the controller, the mobile terminal to receive a user operation to designate a designated second instruction-set through the input interface, and determine whether the memory stores designated device information including an operation ID identifying a designatable operation. When the designated device information is not stored in a memory, the mobile terminal searches for an image processing device capable of executing the designatable operation, receives a user operation to designate the designated device, stores designated device information in the memory, starts the designated program, obtains the operation ID of the designatable operation from the designated program, and transmits first instruction information to the designated device. The first instruction information is information causing the image processing device to execute the designatable operation identified by the operation ID as obtained.

A portable device is configured to obtain an image of a document, the document being of no predefined format and containing numerical data. The numerical data is extracted and automatically organized into a report in a predefined or customized format and stored into a database. The database is accessible and searchable by a user to obtain either the numerical data of the image or the report.

SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR PRODUCING MEDICAL IMAGE DATA ONTO PORTABLE DIGITAL RECORDING MEDIA
20190318819 · 2019-10-17 ·

This application discloses a system for recording medical image data for production on a portable digital recording medium such as CDs and DVDs. Aspects of this disclosure include a robotic disc burning system that can receive a request for medical imaging data generated by an imaging modality and record all of the following onto an optical disc that is removable from the robotic disc burning system: the medical imaging data, data that is related to the medical imaging data, and a viewing program configured to allow viewing by a general purpose computer of the medical imaging data that is recorded on the disc. The system includes, among other components, a labeling module configured to produce a label on the optical disc without manual application of the label onto the optical disc. Additional aspects of this disclosure include an associated method for recording medical image data.

Image processing apparatus for updating a non-volatile memory and method controlling image processing apparatus

An image processing apparatus has a nonvolatile memory including a first region and a second region, a control circuit, and a data input unit. First software is used for updating. Second software is not used for updating. When a starting condition for updating is satisfied, the control circuit overwrites the second region with the first software and makes the second region a new first region. Then, the control circuit overwrites the old first region with the second software and makes the old first region a new second region.

Method for deleting data files in an electronic device

An electronic device, such as a digital camera, includes a deletion mode whereby a camera/electronic device user can delete captured images or data files that have already been transferred in order to make room in the electronic device or digital camera memory for capturing further images. In one embodiment, a digital camera keeps track of which images have already been transferred to an external storage device and presents those to the user as potential images to be deleted. In another embodiment, the user is presented with a delete all transferred images which when selected deletes all the captured images that have already been transferred. In still another embodiment, deletion criteria are used to prioritize which images are deleted first.

IMAGE PROCESSING APPARATUS AND IMAGE PROCESSING METHOD

According to an embodiment, an image processing apparatus includes: an image reading device and a controller. The controller assigns a variable character string to a file identifier for each page of image files generated by the image reading device, and repeatedly assigns the same character string to the file identifier for each number of unit pages. Further, the controller determines a file name of each of the image files by using the file identifier.

Document reading device generating separate files based on character strings recognized on different pages

A document reading device (20) includes a document reading unit (5) that optically reads an image of a source document, a character string recognizer (102) that recognizes a character string included in a designated region in the source image read by the document reading unit (5), and an image storage controller (103) that stores the source image read by the document reading unit (5) in a storage device. The image storage controller (103) generates, when a character string recognized by the character string recognizer (102) in the source image in a designated page of the source document, and a character string recognized by the character string recognizer (102) in the source image in a preceding page are different from each other, one file including the source images up to the preceding page, and stores the file in the storage device (92).
