CLEANING DEVICE AND IMAGE FORMING APPARATUS
A cleaning device includes a removal roller, a collecting roller, a blade, and a toner storage section. The removal roller and the collecting roller do not have relationship such that a rotation speed or a diameter of one of the removal roller and the collecting roller is an integral multiple of a rotation speed or a diameter of the other removal roller and collecting roller. A first outer circumferential region having a first surface roughness and extending in an axial direction of a second rotary shaft and a second outer circumferential region having a greater second surface roughness than the first surface roughness and extending in the axial direction of the second rotary shaft are provided on an outer circumferential surface of the collecting roller in a circumferential direction thereof. A width of the second outer circumferential region is smaller than a width of the first outer circumferential region.
Determining a pulse timing function for a linear printhead
A method is described for controlling a printhead including an array of light sources. An aim exposure function is provided which gives an aim exposure as a function of an integer pulse count. An initial pulse timing function is also provided which defines an exposure time as a function of pulse count. A light output function for the light sources is determined responsive to the pulse timing function, wherein the light output function gives a light output of the light sources as a function of exposure time. The pulse timing function is updated responsive to the light output function and the aim exposure function. The process is repeated until a predefined iteration termination criterion is satisfied. The determined pulse timing function is used to control the printhead, wherein each light source is activated for a pulse count corresponding to a pixel code value of an associated image pixel.

Image forming apparatus
An image forming apparatus includes an image forming unit, a human-body detection unit, an instruction receiver, and a controller. The controller determines whether an adjustment process is to be performed in accordance with a result of a determination, at an end of an image forming process, as to whether a human body is detected. The controller executes the adjustment process when the image forming process is terminated where the human-body detection unit does not detect a human body. The controller starts the image forming process before the adjustment process is executed where a human body is detected and the image forming instruction is received within a predetermined period. The controller executes the adjustment process when the predetermined period has elapsed while the image forming instruction is not received after the end of the image forming process where the human-body detection unit detects a human body.

Electronic apparatus with a horizontally swingable display panel
An electronic apparatus has an apparatus main body, a display panel, and an operation mechanism. The apparatus main body has a first side surface, and second and third side surfaces arranged next to the first side surface so as to sandwich it. The second and third side surfaces are arranged opposite each other. The display panel is provided in the first side surface, and is swingable in the horizontal direction. The operation mechanism is provided in the apparatus main body, is exposed at least through the second side surface, and swings the display panel. By operating the operation mechanism from the second side surface side, the display panel swings to point toward the second side surface, and a third side surface-side part of the display penal protrudes outward beyond the first side surface.
