09565321 · 2017-02-07 · ·

The invention provides an information processing apparatus capable of preliminarily determining a connection number for each communication mode and easily allocating a suitable connection number to a communication mode designated by a user. A method for controlling the information processing apparatus includes receiving a destination number from a user, determining a communication mode for each received destination number, controlling an information processing apparatus in such a way as to use the destination number and a first connection number as a destination if the determined communication mode is a FAX mode, and controlling the information processing apparatus in such a way as to use the destination number and a second connection number as a destination, which is different from the first connection number, if the determined communication mode is an IP-FAX mode.

An image transmitting apparatus which transmits an image to a predetermined transmission destination. The apparatus includes an input unit which inputs an image to be transmitted, an authentication unit which authenticates a user by user authentication, a user information acquisition unit which obtains transmission destination information associated with the user if the authentication by the authentication unit is successful, a transmission destination designation unit which designates a transmission destination to which the image should be transmitted, a determination unit which determines, according to details of the transmission destination designated by the transmission destination designation unit, whether or not the image should be transmitted to the transmission designation associated with the user, and a transmission unit which transmits the image based on the result of determination made by the determination unit.

SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR PROCESSING AND DISTRIBUTION OF UNSTRUCTURED DOCUMENTS

A computer-implemented system and method for processing and distribution of unstructured documents are disclosed. The apparatus and method in an example embodiment includes receiving an unstructured document; obtaining information from the document; storing portions of the information obtained from the document in a data set corresponding to the document; using a portion of the information obtained from the document to obtain an identifier of an enterprise record corresponding to the document; recording a specified behavior category for the document; and using the data set and the specified behavior category to dispatch the document to a recipient or an enterprise.

Method and System for Call, Facsimile and Electronic Message Forwarding

A method and system are provided for forwarding telephone calls, facsimile transmissions and electronic messages to a single forwarding telephone number. The telephone calls, fax transmissions and electronic messages are first forwarded to a central forwarding repository by the forwarding party where the fax transmissions, and messages are converted to audio formats. Forwarded telephone calls and audio formatted versions of the fax transmissions and electronic messages are then forwarded directly to a designated forwarding number. If the forwarding party answers at the forwarding number, she will receive forwarded calls, and the audio formatted versions of fax transmissions and electronic messages will be played to her over her telephone. If the forwarding party does not answer the forwarded call, she subsequently may retrieve saved telephone calls, saved telephone messages and saved audio versions of fax transmissions and electronic messages from the central forwarding repository.

Nanoscale field-effect transistors for biomolecular sensors and other applications

The present invention generally relates to nanoscale wires, including to nanoscale wires used as sensors. In some cases, the nanoscale wires may be used to directly determine analytes, even within relatively complicated environments such as blood, unlike many prior art techniques. In some aspects, the nanoscale wire form at least a portion of the gate of a field-effect transistor, and in certain aspects, different periodically-varying voltages or other electrical signals may be applied to the field-effect transistor. For example, in one set of embodiments, sinusoidally-varying voltages of different frequencies may be applied to the nanoscale wire and the source electrode of the field-effect transistor. The electrical conductance or other properties of the nanoscale wire in response to the periodically-varying voltages may then be determined and used to determine binding of the species.
