IMAGE SCANNING DEVICE
An image scanning device according to aspects of the present disclosures includes a transparent plate member on which an original document can be placed, a line sensor configured to receive a light emitted from a light source and reflected by the original document, and output an electrical signal according to the reflected light, a holding member configured to cover an upper surface of the plate member, and a controller. The controller is configured to obtain a first electrical signal corresponding to a first reflected light when the light source emits light having a first light amount, obtain a second electrical signal corresponding to a second reflected light when the light source emits light having a second light amount, and determine a particular scanning mode for scanning the original document placed on the plate member based on an image difference value calculated from the first and second electrical signals.
Light-emitting component having light-absorbing layer, light-emitting device, and image forming apparatus
A light-emitting component includes a light-emitting element, a driving thyristor, and a light-absorbing layer. The light-emitting element emits light of a predetermined wavelength. The driving thyristor causes the light-emitting element to emit light or causes an amount of light emitted by the light-emitting element to increase, upon entering an on-state. The light-absorbing layer is disposed between the light-emitting element and the driving thyristor such that the light-emitting element and the driving thyristor are stacked, and absorbs light emitted by the driving thyristor.
MAXIMIZING A NUMBER OF COLORANTS USED
In an example, an apparatus is described that includes a plurality of fluid ejection devices, a database, and a raster image processor. The plurality of fluid ejection devices eject a plurality of fluids containing a plurality of different colorants. The database stores an entry for a spot color. The entry defines a first subset of the plurality of fluids that combines to emulate the spot color and a second subset of the plurality of fluids that combines to emulate the spot color. The second subset maximizes a number of the plurality of different colorants used. The raster image processor converts a page description of an image including the spot color into rasterized image data using the second subset of the plurality of fluids.
Image processing apparatus, image processing system, image processing method, and non-transitory computer-readable storage medium
An image processing apparatus includes a sensor and circuitry. The sensor is configured to read a visible spectrum and an invisible spectrum of an image. The circuitry is configured to separate the image read into a visible image and an invisible image and perform different image correction processes on the visible image and the invisible image, respectively.
Information processing apparatus, control system, image processing system, and information processing method to derive illumination condition based on exposure condition
An illumination condition, which is used to irradiate a print product with light having illuminance higher than normal illumination, is derived based on exposure condition information at the time of photographing.
COORDINATED ILLUMINATION AND IMAGE SIGNAL CAPTURE FOR ENHANCED SIGNAL DETECTION
Signal detection and recognition employees coordinated illumination and capture of images under to facilitate extraction of a signal of interest. Pulsed illumination of different colors facilitates extraction of signals from color channels, as well as improved signal to noise ratio by combining signals of different color channels. The successive pulsing of different color illumination appears white to the user, yet facilitates signal detection, even for lower cost monochrome sensors, as in barcode scanning and other automatic identification equipment.
Image forming apparatus that controls light intensity for exposure
An image forming apparatus includes: an image carrier; a light source configured to emit light for exposing the image carrier; a controller configured to control a light intensity of the light source; a reference current generator configured to generate a reference current based on a target light intensity of the light source, the target light intensity being set by the controller; a correction current generator configured to generate a correction current for correcting the reference current based on an amount of correction that is set by the controller, and on the target light intensity; and a driver configured to drive the light source using a drive current that corresponds to a difference between the reference current and the correction current.
IMAGE PROCESSING APPARATUS AND IMAGE PROCESSING METHOD
An image processing apparatus performs predetermined image processing for read data obtained by reading an image on a document by first and second reading sensors arranged so as to have an overlapping area. The predetermined image processing includes color correction processing of converting color signals detected by light receiving elements of the reading sensors into color signals with respect to each of pixels forming read data. Color correction processing for first read data obtained from light receiving elements of the first reading sensor not included in the overlapping area and color correction processing for second read data obtained from light receiving elements of the second reading sensor not included in the overlapping area are performed in accordance with different correction characteristics. By doing this, an image in which image unevenness caused by individual differences of the short reading sensors is reduced can be output.
Reading device, image forming apparatus including same, and reading method
A reading device includes an imaging element and correcting circuitry. The imaging element is configured to receive light from an object selectively irradiated with visible light or invisible light. The correcting circuitry is configured to apply correction processing based on a difference in an optical characteristic between an invisible light region and a visible light region to an image signal in the invisible light region output from the imaging element and output the image signal corrected.
IMAGE FORMING APPARATUS AND CONTROLLING METHOD FOR THE SAME
An image forming apparatus includes an image forming unit configured to form an image on a sheet based on image data, a control unit configured to control driving of the image forming unit, and a power supply unit configured to, if a factor for shifting from a power saving state to a standby state is detected, supply power to the image forming unit and the control unit. If a first type of factor is detected as the factor in the power saving state, the power supply unit supplies power to the control unit and the image forming unit, and the control unit restricts the driving of the image forming unit. If an instruction to perform a function of forming an image on a sheet is accepted, the control unit cancels restriction of the driving of the image forming unit.
