An electronic device and a method for processing an image by the electronic device according to various embodiments of the present invention are provided. The method may comprise: generating password information for a first image using security information of a user; changing the first image to a second image using the generated password information; and transmitting the second image and the password information in response to a transmission request of the first image. Various other embodiments may be available.

An information security management system and a multifunction printer thereof are provided. The multifunction printer includes an image capturing module, an image processing module, an output module and a transmission module. The image capturing module captures a data image of a document paper. The image processing module is coupled to the image capturing module and encodes the data image to generate first encoded data. The output module is coupled to the image processing module and prints second encoded data related to the data image. The transmission module is coupled to the image processing module and transmits one of the first and second encoded data. The multifunction printer deletes the first encoded data from a memory after transmitting the first encoded data, and deletes the second encoded data from the memory after transmitting/outputting the second encoded data.

A multi-functional printing (MFP) includes a scan privacy tool to allow edits and changes to a scanned document image to remove or hide private information within a document. The scan privacy tool is enabled for jobs on the MFP device and launches when a job is run. The document is scanned and a scanned document image displayed on a display and edit interface of the scan privacy tool. Changes are made to the image using tools available through the scan privacy tool. The changes are applied to the scanned document image. The modified image is saved and transmitted to an engine in the MFP device to complete the job. An external input device, such as control buttons or a motion sensor device, is used to input instructions to the scan privacy tool in order to modify the scanned image.

An image processing apparatus for performing masking on text-containing data includes a memory storing a program and a processor which executes the program to perform a process. The process includes receiving a selection of attributes for text strings as masking targets and displaying text strings which are identified through analysis and which correspond to the selected attributes and also displaying a preview with the text strings masked. The preview is displayed in a first area, and the text strings are displayed in a second area with information indicating the text strings are selected as masking targets. In response to receiving in the second area a user operation for deselecting one text string as a masking target, the preview in the first area displays the one text string unmasked.

Service for a machine such as a laboratory instrument can be facilitated by capture of images showing the field of view of a user of the machine, and modification of those images to remove confidential information. Modified images can then be provided to service technicians so that the service technicians can have visual information that would allow them to more effectively communicate and interact with the machines' users.

A method including: providing an image; encrypting an encryption region of the image, the encryption region is less than the whole region of the image; keeping a remaining region of the image unencrypted to provide a partially encrypted image; and storing the partially encrypted image.

According to one embodiment, an image forming apparatus includes a banner page control unit, an image formation control unit, and a printer unit. The banner page control unit acquires banner page setting information indicating setting conditions of a banner page which is inserted between one sheet and another sheet, on which an image is formed by a plurality of jobs. The image formation control unit determines whether or not to form an image of the banner page by a printer unit, based on the banner page setting information. The printer unit forms the image of the banner page, if it is determined by the image formation control unit that the image of the banner page is formed.

Example embodiments relate to partial snapshots for creating generalized snapshots. An example method may include, in response to an event, accessing a user interface screen or view associated with an application. The screen or view includes multiple pixels arranged over an area. The method may include sampling the multiple pixels by capturing a portion of the total pixels included in the screen or view. The sampling may include maintaining a dispersion of the captured pixels over the area of the screen or view and preventing clustering of captured pixels within sub-areas of the area. The method may include transmitting the captured portion as a partial snapshot to a system to create a generalized snapshot from the partial snapshot and other partial snapshots.

An information processing apparatus includes a memory and circuitry. The memory stores shared information, identification information identifying each file of shared information in association with identification information of a group, and user identification information in association with the identification information of the group. The circuitry associates, with at least one file of shared information, masking information defining a masking target that a different group from the group associated with the file of the shared information is restricted from using. The circuitry accepts, from an information terminal, designation of a group for usage of the shared information. The circuitry determines whether any file of the shared information associated with the designated group is associated with the masking information. The circuitry determines one or more files of shared information to be transmitted to the information terminal. The circuitry transmits the determined shared information to the information terminal.

An image forming apparatus includes a first input controller, an output controller, a second input controller, a detector, and a notifier. The first input controller is configured to receive an input concerning a request for outputting image data. The output controller is configured to output the image data onto which identification information for identifying an input user who performs the input concerning the output request received by the first input controller is embedded. The second input controller is configured to receive an input of the image data. The detector is configured to detect the identification information from the image data received by the second input controller. The notifier is configured to notify a fact that the image data is detected in a manner recognizable by the input user of the identification information when the identification information is detected by the detector from the image data.
