Cell-based compression with edge detection and interleaved encoding
An example embodiment may involve obtaining (i) an a×b attribute macro-cell, and (ii) a×b pixel macro-cells for each of a luminance plane, a first color plane, and a second color plane of an input image. The a×b pixel macro-cells may each contain 4 non-overlapping m×n pixel cells. The example embodiment may also involve determining 4 attribute-plane output values that represent the 4 non-overlapping m×n attribute cells, 1 to 4 luminance-plane output values that represent the a×b pixel macro-cell of the luminance plane, a first color-plane output value to represent the a×b pixel macro-cell of the first color plane, and a second color-plane output value to represent the a×b pixel macro-cell of the second color plane. The example embodiment may further involve writing an interleaved representation of the output values to a computer-readable output medium.

METHOD FOR MONITORING A COLOR STANDARD IN A PRINTING MACHINE
A method monitors a color standard for a machine for processing printing material. The color standard results from various parameters of the printing operation and correspondingly associated set points. The color standard may be modified and individually adapted to every machine. The machine is equipped such that current values of the parameters of the color standard are measured and forwarded to a computer. The computer compares these values and predefined set points of the color standard, and based on this information, makes an assessment of the color and quality level achieved in the printing operation. The computer outputs control signals based on the monitoring. The control signals influence the machine control and/or the determining of the current values of the parameters of the color standard in a feedback loop. The color standard is modifiable by the operator by a different selection and weighting of the parameters and the set points.

Radiating device and media exposure device
This invention relates to a media exposing device for exposing media. The media exposure device includes a holding structure; a substrate having a plurality of diodes mounted thereon; and a radiation modification element for modifying the radiation emitted by the diodes. The substrate and the radiation modification element are secured by the holding structure in an arrangement wherein the diodes can emit radiation from the device and wherein the radiation modification element is spaced from the diodes in the radiation path of the diodes; and a telecentric lens secured to the holding structure in an arrangement wherein the telecentric lens is substantially in register with the radiation path of the diodes.
Capturing image data of printer output
An apparatus and method for use in capturing image data of an output of a printing device during a print run, the method comprising capturing a first portion of image data of a first spread, capturing a second portion of image data of a second spread, wherein the location of the second portion of image data on the second spread is different from the location of the first portion of image data on the first spread, and combining the first portion with the second portion to generate oversampled image data.
Image processing device, article processing apparatus, and image processing method
An image processing device that acquires an image from an object includes an illuminator having a plurality of light sources, a sensor unit, and a controller. The plurality of light sources irradiates light of respectively different colors onto an object. The sensor unit outputs luminance data for one line obtained by photoelectrically converting light is reflected from the object of that was irradiated by the illuminator onto the object. The controller acquires a random number, and acquires luminance data for one line output by the sensor unit, while causing one light source selected from the plurality of light sources based on the acquired random number to emit light.
IMAGE FORMING APPARATUS, SERVER APPARATUS, AND RECORDING MEDIUM
