HYBRID COLOR IMAGE FOR IDENTIFICATION DOCUMENTS
A multilayer identification document including a first layer including a color component of a color image and a second layer including a grayscale component of the color image, wherein the grayscale component is laser-engraved on the second layer. The color component is printed on the first layer and defines a multiplicity of voids in a preselected arrangement. The color component and grayscale component are at least partially superimposed to yield a hybrid color image.
IMAGE FORMING SYSTEM, IMAGE FORMING APPARATUS, INFORMATION PROCESSING APPARATUS, AND COMPUTER-READABLE STORAGE MEDIUM
An image forming system includes: a reading unit configured to read a test image, the test image having a determination image formed by overlapping a plurality of colors and a plurality of reference images formed with each of a plurality of reference colors; and a determination unit configured to determine a first color value of each of the plurality of reference colors based on a reading result of the reference images, determine a second color value of a plurality of pixels included in the determination image based on a reading result of the determination image, and determine whether an image defect has occurred based on an angle of a second vector corresponding to the second color value of the plurality of pixels with respect to a first vector corresponding to the first color value of each of the plurality of reference colors.

Assessing print quality using intensity histograms and perimeter lengths
In one example in accordance with the present disclosure, a method for assessing print quality is described. According to the method, a printed mark is converted into a digital binary mark. A number of values are calculated for the digital binary mark. The number of values include at least a perimeter length value and a value describing a characteristic of an intensity histogram for the digital binary mark. A combined representation of the number of values for the digital binary mark are compared against a combined representation of a number of values for a model printed mark. When the combined representation for the digital binary mark is greater than a predefined distance away from the combined representation for the model printed mark, an operation of a printing device that generated the printed mark is adjusted.
Printing apparatus, an amount of displacement calculating method, and a testing chart
A printing apparatus of this invention scans with a tester a testing chart printed by a printing controller to acquire testing image data. A total amount of displacement calculator calculates an amount of displacement of a recording position including a direction of misregister as a total amount of displacement, based on a large amount of displacement determined by a large amount of displacement determiner, a direction of displacement detected by a direction of displacement detector, a shift amount corresponding to an amount of displacement detecting chart determined by an amount of displacement detecting chart determiner, and a peak position of the amount of displacement detecting chart determined by the amount of displacement detecting chart determining unit. Thus, since a total amount of displacement of the misregister can be calculated only by printing the testing chart on web paper WP, an amount of displacement of the misregister in the transport direction can be obtained easily in a short time.
Image forming device, method, and program product with correction image not recognized as post-processing image
An image forming device which forms an image for color correction in the margin of a continuous recording medium such as continuous paper as appropriate without causing erroneous detection by a mark sensor at a post-processing stage. In the image forming device, a printing data generator (control section) performs: acquiring a detection criterion to detect a post-processing image for use at the post-processing stage; creating a color correction image to be used for color correction of an original image according to the detection criterion; and arranging the color correction image as an outer area image in an area other than an original image formation area in printing data.

Image processing apparatus, image processing method and storage medium
An image processing apparatus generates dot data for printing an image on a printing medium by using dots of different sizes formed by a plurality of nozzles ejecting ink. The image processing apparatus includes a first acquisition unit that acquires dot data specifying printing or non-printing of each of the dots of a plurality of sizes for each pixel, a specification unit that specifies a dot having a strong possibility of being pulled by a dot having landed earlier on the printing medium of dots in the dot data, and a correction unit that corrects a dot specified by the specification unit in the dot data. The image processing apparatus can output an image whose banding is unlikely to be recognized by suppressing image defect due to a change of dots accompanying liquid droplet interference.
INFORMATION PROCESSING APPARATUS, IMAGE FORMING APPARATUS, AND NON-TRANSITORY COMPUTER READABLE MEDIUM
An information processing apparatus includes: a processor configured to execute a first smoothing process of smoothing a black component of a color conversion table, calculate other color components of the color conversion table using the black component for which the first smoothing process is executed, and execute a first update process of updating the color conversion table based on the black component for which the first smoothing process is executed and the calculated other color components.
